  2. One of my first gym teachers thought it’d be a good idea to show this to kindergartners. I know the movie’s supposed to scare kids away from drugs, but it just scared kid me in general without really understanding what they were trying to say. The scene where the kid flies directly into that demon statue’s hyper realistic innards feels like someone’s poorly disguised fetish in retrospect.

  3. No matter how cheesy it is, or perhaps because of it, this special will always hold a special place in my heart. I could probably source it as one of the reasons I've loved crossover content since I was a kid. Seeing so many different characters and franchises you knew or liked together in one video? Who wouldn't love that?

  4. I was in kindergarten when I first watched this TV special in grade school. Man. Takes me way back. While many joke this is what being high is like. Well…

To this day, I never touched a cigarette or any hard drugs at all. And beer or alcohol? Had one sip on the latter and I never liked it. Terrible taste even if it were sweet or fruit flavored.

  5. I know to some people this kind of PSA stuff looks stupid, and I admit a lot of it can be too extreme.

But it did scare me straight as a kid, and as a result I've been clean my whole life, so it's not like it wasn't effective for some.

  6. I was not expecting to hear Simon talk about Marajauna in that tone lol. But honestly I like how they used cartoon characters to teach the teenager to say no. I like how they all tell the kid that Drugs are bad and basically guilt trip in a way lol. Drugs are bad no doubt always say no and if you can’t handle it yourself. Talk to your folks. They will help you

  7. I am of an age that I was the target demographic when this first aired and my mom tape recorded it on the VCR for further viewings. Yes, we were completely stoked to see this epic level of cartoon character crossover. But when it came to teaching us to say no to drugs, it was a massive fail. Heck, seeing Bugs Bunny talk about "joints" as a little kid just confused me because at that age, a joint was something like your elbow or knee. I had no idea what he was talking about for years!

  8. I will admit, I am surprised I never saw this as a kid because these chars were my childhood. I definitely would have fangasm over it too. I do remember DARE and all of the other drug warning stuff, especially from my mom who saw first hand what drugs did to people during the 60s and 70s.

Side note, I can confirm that Bush Sr. is a nice person. I have no memory of it, but I met the guy when I was 6 when he was still VP, under Reagan.

  9. I remember I saw this cartoon on another video sharing site when I have read the review about this cartoon crossover by a hungarian blogger.
I think that kind of drug preventation was decent, but after watching through this cartoon movie IMO it's rather middle than good.
