‘Wasted our nation's time’: Matt Canavan on Pauline Hanson Senate Question Time drama

Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says One Nation leader Pauline Hanson “wasted” the nation’s time, refusing to take back an offensive comment aimed at Greens’ Mehreen Faruqi during Senate Question Time.

“It was half an hour of your nation’s parliament took up,” Mr Canavan told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

“This week, in the Senate, is the second time the Greens have hijacked the Senate’s time. The other day they walked out, that was a bit easier because it went pretty well once they walked out of the Senate.”

Ms Hanson refused to withdraw her comment that she would take Greens Deputy Leader Mehreen Faruqi, who was born in Pakistan, to the airport, put her on a plane and wave her away.

On Monday, Greens senators left the chamber in protest around 25 minutes into Senate Question Time over the government’s failure to call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza or condemn Israel’s attacks.

  1. The Greens should be asked if they are national socialists. If they say yes they will become illegal, arrested, and disbanded. They are the closest we have ever had. If you don't know the national socialists were fascists.

  2. Senator Murray Watt's office is in Southport on the Gold Coast, an urban city area. I understand he's a QLD senator but he's based in that part of the state. We need people with an idea of the country and its needs for the agricultural ministry portfolio.

  5. Faruqi is very quiet on Pakistan evicting 140,000 Afghan refugees but she will support the genocide of Jews. Watt is a fool; farmers are among the most productive in the world and according to the climate alarmists we will have a world-wide food shortage.
