Podcast is Called : ASN Humans Are Space Orcs , HFY and other stories
————–

This Story is Classified as HFY or Humanity Feck, Yea , but what does the Mean?
————-
HFY is a story/series that takes a “human element” in either humanity or an “other” (race/species or object) that exists in a “setting” (future or other world/universe) with varying levels of culture, technology, society and history that help show in some shape or form the potential good or bad for humanity’s race/culture. In These stories Humans are often referred to as Human, Humanity, Deathworlder, Hellwolder in reference to the human planet of origin , Earth. This planet is seen by most of the universe as a place where only death and chaos can survive.
————-
Taken from the FAQ of the r/HFY subreddit.

Humans Are Space Orcs (HASO) or Humans Are (Fantasy Race) Are used as a guide when writing.
In these Stories we normally View humans like the other races view orcs in a Fantasy Novel. We (Humans) share the same characteristics and personalities as orcs. Humans are normally treated as the outsiders and barbarians. Humans tend to be underestimated as well in these stories. Unlike Humanity Feck Yea , these don’t always put a positive spin on humanshumanity sometimes looking at the darker side of human and humanity from the perspective of aliens.

  1. So two identical parallel universes each dumping their trash into the other but only to have it come out in the other one as pure energy. Just leave it up to humans to "accidentally" break the laws of the universe and treat like it was nothing.

  2. I guess these aliens and parallel earth never heard of a Birch Planet. The concept kinda kills three birds with one stone seeing as it creates a massive habitable area, it generates harvestable energy for the civilization by feeding matter into the black hole at the center, and it gets rid of the trash because that's just more matter to feed it for energy output.

  3. For those saying 'Just toss it in a star or black hole': The civ in question has been creating entire stellar systems – galaxies, if I remember correctly – just from trash. They're literally creating stars and planets from trash. Even a black hole will eventually choke on that amount of input; that's how Big Bangs are born.

Essentially what the humans did here was create a cascade effect. Their trash disposal system fed energy into a near-identical universe, roughly at the instant of the big bang in that universe. Hell, they may have been responsible for said event. The addition of other civs' trash to the 'pile' so to speak is likely what caused the rapid expansion of the alternate universe. And now the alternate universe is doing the same thing. Eventually the highest universe will die out because so much trash has been shoved in that bottomless hole, while nothing else is being added. That, or it will come full circle, and form a semi-stable loop. Entropy hasn't been solved, so much as put off until Much, Much Later.

  4. The easy thing to do would be to roll all of your garbage into a ball, out it on a rocket, and launch it into space. When it comes back just shoot it with another ball of garbage.

For the Rhyhtm that is Algo

Fundamental misunderstanding of environmental "waste" and the implied loop at the end of the story kind of ruins it. That said, it was well written. "The Black Fleet" was poetic, in it's way.

  6. if the energy used to accellerate it precisely into a star .. waste is no problem .. heck .. if energy is no problem an artificial sun would take care of it,
the question is where does all the raw material come from?

  7. I'm actually very disappointed by the conclusion of this story. Trash in any form is almost infinitely recyclable IF you know how to do it. Yes, that includes nuclear waste.
