  1. What isn't mentioned in this video is that being in November, the coming winter delayed clearing and rebuilding efforts, leaving many without a home for a much greater time compated to spring tornados

  2. Excellent video! As a paramedic who responded there that day I can say that it is spot on! I will share some additional insight to the low death count as a thank you. Washington Illinois is a very religious (Christian) town and nearly everybody goes to church. The majority of the city was in church when the tornado struck. That along with the things you mentioned (basements, warnings) surely saved hundreds of lives. I made a slide show documentary of this tornado as well but it sucks in comparison to yours.

  3. I remember my dad and I tracking this system setting up 4 days before everything hit and said if it comes together like the models show it is going to be a widespread outbreak. I was working at the time and left early to try and chase and the amount of tornado warned storms was like nothing i've ever seen and haven't witnessed since. I saw some much damage from all the different cells and could barley keep up with the systems. It was crazy to think this happened in November.

The crazier part was the temps plummeted after this and I think two weeks later we had a huge snow system that dumped 6 inches on the whole area. Was just a crazy November all together.

  4. Disaster Funding was delayed (Denied?) because of the Rural location. Had this tornadic monster travelled through South Chicago, you can BET that, with Obama as Pres, there would have been a MUCH better emergency/food/shelter turnout by the Gub-Mint than what was experienced in the Washington and affected areas.

  5. Oh, and Chris? I Subscribed and liked this video !! The amount of data that you give the viewer, with regard to the animated tornado, the location of the video that is being shared, and other factors as they come up? Fantastic. 5 Stars. PLEASE keep up the good work, so I wont have to listen to other amateurs screaming into their mics just to get a good look at a funnel !
    Peace. Mark

  6. I am shocked by some of the people risking their lives to get footage of these tornadoes. Maybe they are not understanding how much danger they are in. To me, if it sounds like a freight train and its shredding houses where they stand, it's time to hide not film.

  7. Chris don’t know crap, apparently, about tornadoes and tornado season (s). Fall and spring are both big tornado times. He said fall was rare for tornadoes. Are you kidding?! Lmao πŸ˜‚ crap video
