WARNING: Scar NEEDS to GARDEN in Dreamlight Valley

Using my very scientific methods, I’m setting out to learn what happens when you ONLY have GARDENERS in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

What is Dreamlight Valley?

Disney Dreamlight Valley is a life sim game similar to games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. In it, you’ll help your favorite Disney characters re-build Dreamlight Valley and bring it back to its former glory. If you like cozy games like ACNH and Stardew, but wish you could spend time with your favorite Disney characters, Dream Light Valley is for you.

  1. Great video!! I wonder what would have happened if:
    – you used the same character each time you harvested
    – you used newer companions vs older companions, do older companions have an even more increased harvest when new companions are added to the total
    – if there is a difference between the characters, eg does Elsa harvest more than Anna in general
    – what happens if someone repeats the experiment EXACTLY like yours (adding companions in the same order, using the exact same companions for each harvest)

This is really cool!! I generally add more gardeners because they are easy to level up.

  2. Hard disagree! Money is cheap as frick in this game, who needs more millions $? BUT making Scar a mining pal means he’s leveled fast just from his quests, plus, more iron! Iron iron iron.

  3. I made him a forager since he's an animal… and animals hunt and forage for food.
I was considering making him a fisher since no other fishermen exist on his side of the map and it was obvious most of his favorite daily gifts would involve fish (he's a cat).

  4. First off, I love this video for showing the increase per gardener with maths and all. I do however need to point out the game does tell you that the more villagers you have assigned to a certain role the better they each become.

  5. I’m willing to bet the increase is based on your characters level and has nothing to do with the number of gardeners you have. It’s a good experiment but you should add a new buddy with a different job and see if your harvest still goes up.

  6. I won't what your numbers would give if you did access the bonus shiny pumpkins… from my understanding the likelihood of getting the bonus shiny plants increases based on your gardening buddy, their level, etc. So, would the number of bonus shiny veggies increase along with how many extra your buddy finds?

  7. I've only got one field with one hundred plots. A pumpkin harvest usually nets me 250 pumpkins which I use to make three pumpkin veggie platers (It makes more money than the pumpkin puffs). Just by doing that, I'm well beyond four million star coins. Also, a tip I got from another video, trap your companion in a cage or fence while you harvest to keep them out of your way. When you're done, release them and they will give out their bonus items all at once.

  8. I wish we could reassign character roles…. I didn’t think much about it when I first started the game so I randomly assigned roles… didn’t help I didn’t know who I assigned what. Wish I could change it now based on what their preferred activities are.

  9. Companions? Mickey gives me no extras when I ask him to hang out. Are we supposed to push a button to make them a gardening companion? I literally never get any extra veggies from Mickey when we hang out

  11. So it's way too late but in the game guide under friendship where it says 'let's hang out with friends' it does explain "assign the same roles to more Villagers to get bigger Hangout Bonuses". It is cool to see how much it increases though!

I have 1 forager, 2 fishers, 2 diggers and 5 for mining and gardening! I'm very happy with this split, Merlin is the only forager but that's fine since he doesn't sleep and I have 2 characters for fishing and digging and when one character is sleeping I can still hang out with the other one! Scar is going to be a gardener for sure, I just haven't had time to play this update yet 🙁
