Gotta love that they included Tony Montana on the Space Marine box art
Nope….Man O War
Never played Epic and Gothic because I did not have enough money aside from second edition 40k. However, I loved the Epic and Gothic battle reports in White Dwarf.
epic was so fun. wish they didnt abandon it
Do a deep dive on the catalogue! Man, so many nostalgic childhood memories of browsing through games companies catalogs like GW, Wargames West, and others. I'd love to see those again!!
my epic eldar had square bases fitting 5 models back in the day.
I was lucky enough to see a few games of this played back in the 90s, was a really interesting game, fun to watch. I miss old Necromunda……..
I still love the fact that I could buy 6 plastic Warlord Titans back in the day with all weapon options for £10. Space Marine or "Epic" was certainly a great system for large scale games, something missing at the moment on the tabletop.
Honestly? Would love to see this back. Would be a lot cheaper to produce and much more portable, though most likely easier to lose.
Have you guys heard of blood bowl? It suprises me you've not done anything on that (that i can find anyway) not just the best game from games workshop, but the best game ever… amd at the same time the most punishing… but some cool projects you could do around it
Games workshop bought out great games in the past, space hulk, space marine…its gone downhill since the 90s
Epic is great, coulda been huge 🤣🤣
Would love to see imperial guard art this scale
these smaller once looks much better for a table top game then whats being used. but wow painting these minimini miniatures.. that scale feels so much better and could bring much more options in units into play
I'm not sure I personally would call this the best game that Gdubs abandoned, as that honor will always go to Battlefleet Gothic, but Epic was damn fun all the same. Thank goodness 3-D printers and fan rules updates exist.
It makes me sad when he calls it old…..I remember when it was released..
terragon looks ugly af
I always wanted to play this version but never had a chance to.
I remember this game when it was called White Dwarf and I love the old magazine art works and the old school cut out buildings for use with the Warhammer & 40k version!!!!
I have two armies, Space Marines and Eldar, fully painted. This is one of the best specialist game GW produced back then. Epic armageddon has the most used rules.
Epic : Space Marine was wildly popular with my gaming group.
In a very old white dwarf I ones saw how they took the individual minis of the epic range and put them on small bases and made a 6mm normal battle out of them, for when you wanted a warhammer 40,000 game while traveling.
So you can use them all on individual bases and just scale everything to the normal rules and then have very big armies in small areas.
Do battlefleet gothic, and Man O war
Awesome game.
