First the Undead Scourge’s corruption and then the Burning Legion’s invasion has left the Alliance of Lordaeron decimated and torn apart. Former Human and Elven Kingdoms now lie in ruins, roamed by horrific undead creatures, with major cities left under the iron fist of the Dreadlords’ reign. To make matters worse, betrayal and discord has struck the Alliance from within, with treacherous Blood Elves conspiring with inhuman beasts and taking arms against their Human and Dwarven brethren. Despite the overwhelming odds, dispersed groups of resistance continue their desperate struggle. Even though the chances of victory seem to diminish with every comrade lost, it is said that even in the darkest of times a new hope may emerge from where you least expect it…

More Warcraft 3 videos. Wohoo!
Opinion of Coldgaze is really ironic. "Leave this place to burn to Legion, bah" and it's really hilarious that Azeroth not only survived but defeated the Scourge and Legion. Someone may say that it's just "WoW plot armor", but point is still stands plus Dragonflights, Titans and etc
Jay mentioning age of empires after cataphracts then seeing that they can do trample damage was an "ahhh!" Moment
As odd that an elf would just out right say 'son of a bitch' that I would see only humans use commonly, it's somewhat amusing
These characters are just dripping with the creators' intent to make them characters and I like the vibe but it's mostly dumped into cutscenes and intermittent walls of dialogue. I like it a lot anyway but I wonder if most players' eyes just glaze over.
Eldin: nooo Vespira, you can't just face a full base in a micro mission
Vespira: haha, pocket town hall go brrr
Jayborino are you on holiday or something? It feels like we are getting so much content.
I am not complaining of ciurse but I am surprised
These campaigns have the best terrain job i have seen in wc3. Props to the creators
Edit: hunters' voice is Keith Szarabajka?
Last time, macielos or nyctaeus said they didn't feel like reordering the missions so kept this as bonus instead. Intermission would fit it too at no loss of meaning.
Awesome mission, especially the siege units. Pulverizers could very well be the most unique and coolest looking siege range, while protector channel a bit of space marine energy with their shoulders (hard to pick between them and darksteel golems of arkain fame). Vespira wasn't playable version before, so let's enjoy that now(same for enclave tech tree).
Regarding marksmen, unit description says mass driver tech, which means either coilgun or even railgun technology is involved. That's almost/IS space age compared to warcraft standards 😛

A shame that people hear "I'm tired" and think "I hate this." Even as someone who prefers longer, larger maps and battles, grueling crawls and a long grind, I understand they can be exhausting. There are ways to mitigate it, forward production may help if you need to reinforce but not if your force is crushing it, fast travel tools like a Nydus Worm or Deep Tunnel can help but those aren't here either. Etc.
Still, I think this modded playthrough is encouraging me to finally take the plunge and try some WC3. Maaaybe. I have to research Reforged versus Legacy, supposedly this mod breaks when run in Reforged?
How to zoom out?
Ah look at this one giving gnomes their due.
Another 3 days, another chapter. It's a standard chapter, it always becomes available after Chapter Seven, it was simply added later and I was too lazy to alter all the following chapter names, variables, references etc., so I named it a bonus. I will probably rename it to "Enclave Chapter" instead of Bonus Chapter", indeed it might sound confusing.
Arcane Defence charges remain after you disable the ability. They slowly discharge over time regardless whether the ability is on or not.
The plants were meant to be well hidden across the map, but luckily for the players there are more on the map than required (12 as far as I recall).
Areas affected by the storm can be recognized by weather effects. Northrend blizzard + Outland's storm = Jiluuni magical storm.
As for the storm mechanics itself… well, the inspiration was a map from Kerrigan campaign in SC2 where we had to destroy Protoss bases on an icy world. However, I thought it extremely lame and boring that the mechanics didn't affect our units at all, instead it frequently froze enemy bases giving us time for completely effortless offensive. So here I did the reverse of it, so that it's the player who has to time his offensives carefully, stick to the covered areas of the map first and slowly gain the upper hand over forces of nature by expansions and siege units.
I am really liking the Magitek aesthetic of the Enclave. The Pulverizer cannons look so good!
For some reason this mission felt like something from the Spellforce games. You start with a somewhat lengthy no-build/micro segment, then it expands into a macro mission.
The Magical Storm mechanic was kinda planned big and had more features, but some of them we found to be contributing mostly annoyance to the gameplay. Other ideas were not implemented because we simply lacked technical options to do so. Final product is much simpler and has lesser impact on the gameplay then we initially planned, and I kinda agree with you that in the end, stoms ended up as "mechanic to have a mechanic". We kinda… Lacked alternate ideas how to make it more interesting to play 😛 .
But despite that, the map still had to deliver what it's supposed to – Playable Enclave, wreaking havoc in Undead bases with army of magical constructs, showcase of might of the Enclave, introduce our first tricky skillset [especially for Deepstrasz :D], expand lorebuilding of the Enclave, expand character development of Eldin, continue Blackclads sideplot… And announce one of new characters of the sequel, who happens to be my personal favorite :]. Good, old Kalandra…
Pretending that everything is always all splendid and awesome is stupid. We're not always capable of delivering everything we have in our minds. I doubt if any content creator really is… But I hope that this one is still enjoyable enough, and has enough cool content to be simply "a good map".
The plants plot isn't really rewarding in TVG. It's part of bigger plot that will be continued later.
Regarding 1:08:57, we tend to make maps somewhat larger in general, because it feels more natural for things to be more spaced out. I think it makes design of our environment more believable, but it has a downside in form of increased travelling time. It's always a trade of something for something. Having stuff cramped on smaller map is something my senses cannot really digest by any means. How to mitigate this issue in sequel? We will figure out something. Well… I guess we gotta implement some portals in the sequel just for QoL :P.
Speaking more personally, what I was discontented with in your M04 playthrough, was amount of complaining in general. It's okay to not favor big maps [or other thing] for whatever reason, it's okay to communicate that to the audience, but maan, the "chain of complaints" in Part 2 was straightforward repulsive and setting tone of whole video to "Jay complains about stuff". I'm actually saying that not as creator of this project, but as your typical subscriber and enjoyer of your content. The way you communicate your feelings and express judgements this time is much more balanced, very mature and professional. I take this as standard of your videos in general so… I guess you just had a bad day back then. Pardon me if I wrote something unsettling back then. I hope we cool 😛
Are we not going to talk about the key phrase being literally "Kael'thas has a small dick"
old man gaming "too long" "too hard" "too difficult" kinda sadge ngl
"Orb of Venom is probably the worst orb in the game."
swaps claws +12 for the orb
Jay: 🙂
These enclave elves come from Fallout it seems : they have technology way beyond other factions including mechs, they talk of reason and science in a mostly medieval setting… I don't know about the dick joke passwords though, I haven't really played Fallout
