The ALL UNIVERSITY ORCHESTRA is a student-led organization composed of members with a passion for classical music from Carnegie Mellon University and its surrounding community.
The AUO has grown in size since its founding over 26 years ago, comprised of students, faculty, friends, and staff from all 7 colleges, as well as the University of Pittsburgh and community members. In its 26th season, the AUO now includes two full symphonic orchestras (AUO Symphony), as well as chamber ensembles AUO Chamber Orchestra (formerly String Theory) and Flutonium (flute choir). Members volunteer their time and attend weekly rehearsals to perform one concert per semester, making music together and showcasing talents.
