VP Harris delivers closing argument at Ellipse in DC | LiveNOW from FOX

Kamala Harris promised Tuesday to “put country above party and above self” in the closing argument of her presidential campaign, delivering her message from the same site where Donald Trump fomented the Capitol insurrection, to emphasize the sharp choice voters face.

One week out from Election Day, the vice president used the address from the grassy Ellipse near the White House to pledge to Americans that she would work to improve their lives while arguing that her Republican opponent is only in it for himself.

Trump “has spent a decade trying to keep the American people divided and afraid of each other: That’s who he is,” Harris said. “But America, I am here tonight to say: That’s not who we are.”

She looked to sharpen that contrast by delivering her capstone speech from the place where Trump on Jan. 6, 2021, spewed falsehoods about the 2020 presidential election that inspired a crowd to march to the Capitol and try unsuccessfully to halt the certification of Democrat Joe Biden’s victory.

  1. To Fox viewers, Trump was a cheater all his life, and he is still cheating. By lying his way to the oval office with your help and then turn his back on you. To trump, you are fooled easily!!

  4. Huge mistake to do this in front of the White House, political malpractice. But I am happy she did!! This poor lady, up to her same ways. This was a colossal failure. It's not my opinion. It's the Democrats, the independents, strategists, undecided voters ext. She refuses to take advice. She is a lost cause. Trump2024!!

  5. Social Security and Medicare are out of money jus like FEMA because Democrats are using it for their own personal piggy bank, and have ever sense Biden changed the wording of Social Security from a retirement FUND to a retirement TAX fund so they could dip into it

  6. Voters need to realize Kamala as Vice president still has enough power to push for things to get done, literally second to the President, it's still a high ranking position that works in administrating the executive branch. Kamala & Biden have been at the White House together all this time and they have few accomplishments to show for. Kamala speaks of prosperity/change in her speeches but her behavior of being currently inside the oval office as VP day-to-day representing a role of authority and influence, shows us just how well things will go for her as President. Kamala is just a last minute candidate that the Democratic party hastily gave rise to as a mean for them to hold on to power in Washington. Politicians like her are just puppets that put on a smile acting as a figure head for the public but are covertly being pulled on strings by their political party. Lest we forget how they treated Biden when he wasn't pulling numbers for the Democratic party, they literally forced him to sign a document exonerating him as candidate, Biden was so emotionally distraught that he didn't show his face for weeks and didn't endorse her until much later.

  7. I'm guessing our tax dollars paid for her to hold this waste of time event? I'm also guessing our tax dollars pay to fly this "person" all over the USA to campaign? Still waiting to hear about the policies? SMH

  8. As Election Day approaches and we face a defining moment as a nation, let us look beyond division and remember what binds us as Americans. The passions stirred by politics can often cloud our view, making neighbors seem like strangers, and differences like unbridgeable divides. But when the dust settles and the votes are counted, we are still a single nation—united in our hopes, dreams, and resilience.

Let us resolve to reconcile, to reach across the aisle, across our streets, and embrace the spirit of unity that has carried us through our greatest challenges. America was built on the ideals of freedom, justice, and community. These ideals are not just for some of us—they are for all of us, regardless of party, race, or creed. The strength of this country lies not in a single leader but in the collective heart and soul of its people.

Together, let’s choose love over hate, dialogue over division, and compassion over conflict. May we emerge from this season stronger, more united, and ready to face the future together. United we stand, divided we fall—now more than ever, we need to remember that what unites us far outweighs what divides us. Let us stand tall as Americans, committed to building a brighter, more hopeful tomorrow for all.
