  1. That was our John, he is just amazing! this song was the last for the night after being on stage performing for near on three hours. Yuo just have to keep on diving into Johns music he has had some awesome songs over the years and fortunately for you there are many hours of music video for you to catch him on, enjoy! As for whats next may I suggest you ask Dr_KAP, she has a great history of guiding reactors on their musical journey with John and other Australian performers.

  2. … and that's why John is THE VOICE ! Enormous range. Wonderful control and enormously versatile; everything from rock, to ballads to blues, to musical theatre, and all self taught. Not a vocal lesson anywhere. Great song writer and thoroughly lovely down to earth guy as well. Not a shred of 'star ego' anywhere. This last makes him as beloved here in 'the land down under' as does his voice! Have a listen to his 'Burn For You', written for his wife. 😍

  3. Something you may not know is that John is now 73 and underwent major surgery last August for mouth cancer which also took part of his jaw, so not only is he retired, but he’s facing a long recovery. Prayers needed for our beloved larrikin! 🇦🇺❤️❤️❤️

  4. I'm a 61 yo Aussie. I can remember his first big single, it was a ditty called Sadie, The Cleaning Lady. To be honest, it kind of was one of those songs that the English put out in the sixties, you know, like My old Man's A Dust Man… John was after all born in England! When his resurgence in the late 80s and early 90s came, he was played to death on Aussie radio, so I really grew to dislike him. But…. Now, I only hear him when I choose to, and I have to say, for a pommy, he is a great Australian singer! His voice ranks up there with say, Freddie Mercury, although he seldom had material that good to sing.

Sadly, John had a cancer cut out of his jaw, and as a result, will probably never be able to sing again, so I suggest you you look at a few of his other songs. His voice is incredibly strong, a great range, and he is one of those those rare entertainers that take a moment to acknowledge his supporting musicians.

May I suggest you listen to or even react to his version of Granada with Anthony Warlow. You're welcome….

  5. The most awesome rabbit hole to explore…surprises and astounds with every performance…the most generous performer…always sharing the spotlight and highlighting other’s talents… I have followed John since 1980 thru the many doors of his rabbit hole💖💖💖

  6. I've seen many reactions to this great song by John. I haven't heard such a thoughtful and intelligent breakdown of the techniques and vocal aspects of the song though. But you did single out two things which most impressed me was John's brilliant microphone technique (he's just so good), and the second was the backup singers. Venetta Fields (in the middle of the three singers) is, in my humble opinion, THE greatest backup singer of all time. Supremely talented. Please do yourself a favor and listen to (better still REACT to) John Farnham, Venetta Fields and Lindsay Field singing "Amazing Grace". Truly a wonderful experience.
