  1. Happy birthday Nina and a great reaction. It's just about impossible not to be impressed with John Farnham – no matter what he sings, he knocks it out of the park. There's lots of super talented Aussie female vocalists you might like too. Saw you have reacted to a Tina Arena song already. She's always great as are Vanessa Amorossi (Have A Look, Absolutely Everybody) and Vika and Linda (especially their vocals with the Black Sorrows – The Chosen Ones, Chained To The Wheel).

  3. Ah memories! The Don Lane Show. It's funny how you remember a great performer. How they take you through your life. I'm nearly 70 and I'm an Australian and John Farnham ìs up there with the Stones and the Beatles as sounds that have moved my life

  4. It's funny, because English Australians, try to claim him as a pom.
But it's a huge compliment because he's that good and that they want him.
His family came here as 10 pound poms, John was only 9yrs old.
What happened after that is what made John.
He is Australian ,Australian generations have grown older, listening to John.
He is a modern day folk hero with just the best voice imaginable, and a personality and kindness that makes you happy. 😊

  7. Sadly, he won't be singing for us any more. August last year, Cancer took half his magnificent jaw! He is recovering well (73 not out) but he will not perform again. 😥
If you google "You're the voice" Brian May (yes of Queen Fame) you will have John's last performance at the tender age of 70yo, and his gorgeous friend Olivia Newton-John too.
May 11th there will be a premiere of "Finding the Voice" all about his career.
John is notorious for not wanting "Legend" status or biographies / biopics done of him.
This is the first he's agreed to.

Great clip, glad you have found him! Chookas! 💙🦘
(oh and as an aside, he calls me his "Red-in-blue")

  8. It is widely said that John has never had vocal "training".. Mind you he has worked with many, many fantastic singers over the years and has learned (and taught) many great techniques. You must watch his version of Amazing Grace live with Vanetta and Lyndsay and you will see what I mean.
