Violence erupts at Hong Kong pro-democracy protest outside Chinese consulate in Manchester

British police are investigating the apparent assault of a Hong Kong pro-democracy protester, who was video taped being beaten by several men after being dragged inside the grounds of the Chinese consulate in Manchester during a demonstration against President Xi Jinping on Sunday.

Video footage showed a man being hauled through a gate into the consular grounds, where he was kicked and punched by five men as he lay on the ground.

Police at the scene eventually stepped through the gate and pulled the man out.

Sunday’s protest took place on the first day of the twice-a-decade congress of China’s ruling Communist Party in Beijing, during which Xi is widely expected to secure a third leadership term.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin told reporters in Beijing on Monday that he wasn’t aware of the situation, but said that Chinese embassy and consulate members in the U.K. always act in accordance with international diplomatic agreements.

  1. 1. Protesters protest INSIDE UK soil (legal)
    2. Chinese officer tear down others property (illegal)
    3. Protesters attack Chinese officer for distroying
    Their property
    4. Chinese officer drag them inside and do their thing(completely legal because it's Chinese soil)
    5. If he wasn't pulled back out but put him in concentration camp or have their organ harvested it's still completely fine that

  2. If the UK police are not capable of protecting the security of the Chinese consulate, then China can station troops in the UK just like they did to China in 1900.

  3. To Mr. Bob Chan

  5. The protester inside (Bob) is beating a consulate staff (in red clothes) under him. Other consulate staffs are trying to stop Bob by beating and pulling him. A policeman got the permission to pull out the protester a few seconds later. Watch the full video. This is an edited video clip with some motives.

  7. Unreal how the police lets Chinese thugs rule on UK territory and beat up a man as if they were on Tienanmen Square. This is the exact representation of China's morals and their treatment of Hong Kong. The Queen is rolling in her grave.

  8. I am honestly feeling sorry for all the UK citizens who believes they are living in a democratic country, however all their emotions, political views, accessibility to facts etc, all controlled by the government and media, they tell you to hate china and you have no choice, I would call this dictatorship. I agree that there is no democracy in china, but they difference is that chinese people knows that, but people in the west doesn't know.
