A lot of videos aren’t as funny when you’re expecting to be watching funny things, there’s a lot of short videos here that I would find funny if I were to scroll upon them unexpectedly

This is such a surreal mix of 2007 "le epic meme" videos and ipad baby brainrot with no inbetween. Its like they picked the worst each generation has to offer.
The problem is that Vinny has the humor of a 3 year old that doesn’t really know that jokes are even supposed to have a structure but these are all jokes for 7 year olds who know jokes have a structure but have no clue how it works

The Kirby Voice Acting video might be among the most unfunny things I've ever seen- I had to skip it I was cringing into oblivion.
Kinda put off by the YouTube comments in this video rn. Like, I get the videos weren't funny, but man you guys are being overly antagonistic just because the videos didn't land. Like it's not that deep. Saying shit to belittle what others like and saying "These people shouldn't be part of this community" or "Shouldn't be allowed to contribute to this community" doesn't make you any better than the videos being sent for this YLYL. I'd argue it makes you worse, since at least these videos were sent in an attempt to be funny, some of you guys are just being rude. It's fine if you have problems with the videos being sent, and offering advice to help better their chances (in the event we get another one of these) is fine, but remember to at least be respectful.

I feel like I contracted a big lump of cancer from a lot of these submissions. Shitposts are fine, but we need a little more than that damn it. It can be relatable but also stupidly absurd, or even random or unhinged with maybe just a touch of context. This was just the equivalent of someone throwing something sticky on the wall only to watch it glide down and tumble on itself. Or dangling a key chain like most "comedy" shows do and expect people to go along with it, I guess it's called beating a dead horse. Also this proves that Gen Z humour can be just as bad as Millennial humour, and I thought our generation was the stinkiest. It's all Tiktok's fault am I right.
Why do I feel like no one's first ylyl is good, there almost needs to be that initial purge of all the unfunny chat submissions and outdated memes that come from trying to play to the streamer, and then much later after the first ylyl it levels out to just sending funny videos, am I crazy?

I think the problem is this: some people don't understand the difference between "something you would laugh at if you were already primed to laugh" vs. "something you would laugh at even if you specifically were trying not to laugh because you are physically incapable of resisting". Some of these things I could see vinny having laughed at if he was intentionally trying to be jovial and in the right mood. If he is playing a game where he needs to not laugh? then anything that's predictable or well-known is going to be easy to dodge.
Also, I think laugh tracks don't help in this instance, because those are also a "primed to laugh" kind of thing. Vinny needs to be caught off guard.
