  1. 2:04:08 hey cloud, just want to clear things up on how the spear talisman works because chat was confusing Vinny live: spear talisman increases thrusting attacks when you hit enemies while they are in their attack animation. So, since spears are mostly thrust attacks, any time you trade with an enemy you hit em for like an additional 10% on top of the extra damage thrusts already do to enemies

  2. stop killing the baby crabs 😭

    theyre just doin crab stuff

also since madness seems to be associated with the color yellow in this game, i wonder if its a reference to the King In Yellow

  3. Everytime I see someone fight midra he's always super aggressive and uses all kinds of long ranged frenzy attacks.

When I fought him he floated around a lil bit and just walked slowly towards me.

  4. Honestly Elden Ring quest design has been the worst in the series because ER isn't as linear as the previous games, so unless you explore literally everywhere then you're inevitably gonna get stuck. Item descriptions help a lot but you'll probably miss something at least once. The DLC questlines are particularly confusing if you don't find all the crosses for Hornsent. Though I do wish you didn't have to reload so many times, that just makes things unnecessarily complicated. Hopefully future Fromsoft games will be less convoluted.

  5. Vinny, the quest pacing feels shit because you're doing them step by step with chat's instructions, they're not designed to be be completed as part of a checklist like modern games.
You either discover curious little plot lines as you explore, or you don't, the game has no interest in walking you through them or helping you figure them out, but it's a neat thing to stumble into and investigate as you go, maybe revisiting the NPCs after going out to explore, and maybe you don't figure out the conclusion, or maybe you get a "bad" quest end. It's just cool that it's not a checklist, unless you forcibly turn it into one.

The entire design philosophy behind Fromsoft games is to give people the opportunity to be like "I heard if you do x, then y, then z, then w, but not before a, then this thing happens and you get this weird item" Like schoolyard rumors we grew up with.

And I know in this day and age games are terrified to function this way, but I love that these games do and I think they'd be less interesting if the quests worked like every modern RPG in existence.

Could you imagine a quest log in this game? horrendous.
