Agreed customer service has been degraded since covid..I use CeX a lot now, I know it's second hand stuff, but the quality and condition always exceed my expectations, and the great thing is you can return to the local store.. everything has a 2-year warranty.. otherwise like you I just use Amazon now or local store as that is the easiest way to deal with returns.. don't even use eBay anymore
Very interesting chat, Pete. Reviewing a work in progress is a terrific idea. Lots of good tips there. Kudos to Andy for allowing you to pick through his work. I don't think I'd be brave enough to have someone else pull apart one of my projects live.
I love the pathos in Andy's voice! There are great ideas in this track. Recording it again to a simple drum beat ,as you advise, would be quicker than trying to add drums to a free timing recording such as this. As Pete says the more you do it the better it gets. You don't have to glue yourself to a click track but even using it as a guide makes a massive difference when it comes to mixing.
