Vic govt ‘doing nothing to invest in network resilience’: John Pesutto

Victorian Opposition Leader John Pesutto has slammed the Allan government for “doing nothing” to invest in “network resilience” after nearly half a million people in the state lost power on Tuesday.

Three bushfires continue to burn in Victoria’s west and central regions on Wednesday.

Almost 500,000 were without electricity on Tuesday night, and over 250,000 remained without power on Wednesday morning.

“The government commissioned a report following some severe storms in 2021, and it received the report two years ago,” Mr Pesutto told Sky News Australia.

“It reported a year after that … but it’s doing nothing to invest in network resilience.

“Everybody knows that, particularly at this time of year, we have severe storm weather, and our grid needs to be resilient enough to meet that.”

  1. Going to Heaven is easy!

First, you must realize that you have sinned against God and need to be forgiven and saved from hell if you haven’t been already. To be saved from hell and forgiven of all sin, believe that the Son of God, Jesus Christ, died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose again (1 Cor 15:1-4). When you believe that Christ’s atoning work paid for all your sins and when you make Jesus your only hope of going to Heaven, you are forgiven of all sin by God and forever saved from hell; once you are forgiven, you are always forgiven. Warning: None of our good deeds can get us into Heaven. If we trust in our own works to get us to Heaven instead of Christ’s atonement, we will not be allowed in. The Bible says “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost” (Titus 3:5). In conclusion, just believe that all your sins are paid for by Jesus’ atoning work and make Christ your only hope of going to Heaven apart from your good deeds.

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:1

  3. Laura is wrong again.
Coal is wholeheartedly reliable. Nuclear, Gas & Coal are all rock solid reliable…….whats not been happening is investment & maintenance in the Coal Power stations due to far left ideologically driven policy which has disincentivized ongoing investment in Coal.
Why havent we built new Coal and Gas power stations? Why haven't we built Nuclear power stations?
A: because far left Labor is riddled with the cancer of climate alarmism and woke ideologies and is obsessed with intermittent energy sources such as Wind and Solar, and Unviable so called Green Hydrogen

  5. Constant upgrades and updates of various infrastructures is essential to building resilience in State of Victoria. Common sense and Productivity in the public services will determine how capable this government is and should be voted out if they failed to deliver their campaign promises.
