  1. Check out the last scene of the Season 8 finale of Chicago Med. At 41:22 they tilt up while looking at a building that clearly isn't Sea-Tac Airport in WA, to show the Space Needle comped into the background just behind it. This would mean the entire 2,500 acre airport was located in Seattle Center in the middle of the city. In actuality the airport is 15 miles South of the Space Needle.

  2. There's an amazing Korean movie called The Witch, in particular the second installment "The Witch Part 2: The Other One" that has some insane fight scenes involving magic/super powers. The movie just came out last year and it's a real treat for VFX! 😀

  3. I still do not believe that GoPro video is a game. I think he photo scanned it into an engine to "Prove" it's a game but all the footage was real. The reason I say that is because of the hands. Animation for YEARS has struggled with hands and that level of motion and movement is near impossible unless you hand animate it. Even a motion capture suit would be janky as you have experienced yourself. I am not convinced at all. It's just a GoPro footage with a clever misdirection.

  4. I love so much this moments when guys are seeing some great shots from the past and one of them is like "How did they do it? No computers". And then you know the fun part is coming

  5. I was originally introduced to The Gate by an article on very old-school (like, active from 2002-2006) humor site/blog Ninjaculture, I never expected I would ever see anyone else talk about it for any reason.

  6. Wooooooow I've been trying to figure out what movie The Gate was for years! I walked into the bedroom with my dad watching this on cable and i didn't know what it was. 8 year old me thought it was a kids movie. Fast forward to "you've been bad" and the dudes eyeballs giving me nightmares for the next few months.

  7. reel steel… i would argue that it was more like a sophisticated motion control, rather than virtual production… using the previz witth the camera combined. still, shitty written movie

  8. 15:00 GRAVITY comes to mind. was that after reel steel or before? because that, oh boy, was a making of I almost watched more often than the movie itself – which was 13-14 times
