A passenger in a four wheel drive vehicle was killed when the vehicle plunged into a 30m-deep ravine while it was reversing.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department operations centre officer Riki Mohan Singh Ramday said Bianus Asai, 67, died at the scene in the 10pm incident yesterday at the Bukit Kopungit Vantage Point in Jalan Bukit Perwira here.
The driver Genol Lopidi, 66, was injured and sent to the Queen Elizabeth I Hospital (HQE I) for treatment.
The operation was called off at 12.21am, after both victims were brought out of the ravine.
