With all due respect to the guest. How can you possibly sit there and talk about corrupt/nasty East Bay politicians and politics while the Nevada Governor literally held expanded health care services for his constituents hostage and leveraged them to get the Senate to approve the A’s stadium bill?
You give me the MLB and I’ll give you quality health care (minus some education) sounds about as corrupt as they come.
And please stop it with the Mark Davis is a visionary for making the move to Vegas narrative. His vision, just like Fisher, included using citizen’s tax dollars to increase his personal fortune and the value of his privately owned business. At best he is trying to mimic his Dad’s legacy for bucking trends and charting new paths (which also involved abandoning/screwing Oakland) for his own ego. The other Owner’s don’t suddenly respect him but they will take the extra profits and smile to his face.
PS, do you think the tepid skepticism from Oakland politicians regarding stadium deals might be a result of being screwed by the Raiders on multiple occasions?
Good segment, but I don't believe that the A's really prevented the Raiders from building a new stadium in Oakland. Davis was too incompetent to get things done himself, needed Clark County to pay for half the stadium.
