VEGAN gets owned in a HEATED DISCUSSION

I hold a sign that says “let’s play would you rather” and people come and approach me. I ask them thought provoking questions and spark a conversation with them regarding veganism

  2. So he is just saying veganism is not the perfect option, there is an alternate better option out there, but he doesnt know what it is. So therefore he will not go vegan… because of this mysterious 3rd option that he doesnt know what it is but he knows it exists… WHat a CLOWN!

  4. Anyone who tries telling you plants feel pain (as an argument for causing animals pain instead) is just grasping at straws and being a dick. It would take less than five minutes of research to discover that plants do not possess a brain or complex nervous system, the mechanisms by which pain is experienced. The vast majority of animals consumed by humans possess both of these things and have similar reactions to painful stimuli as humans do. They don't care about animals or plants, they're just being snarky and argumentative.

  5. "You're not listening." Ummm, no. The arguments were all rebutted. To the non-vegan man I say to you: Your arguments sucked, and they were answered. Perhaps you were the one not listening?

  6. Frustrating how some people no matter how intelligent they are, they still don't realize that it should be people with people against animal abuse and not people against people abusing animals… The guy is actually going through some crazy mental gymnastics and choosing to turn a blind to more than half of his actions because they would contravene with his so called values.

  7. Math is simple. 8 billions humans on earth, many of which are starving . 80 billion land animals being fed, provided healthcare and shelter for, and slaughtered each year .. if 80 billion individuals are being fed VS not even 8 billion being fed , then obviously more crop deaths exist to raise non human animals for slaughter

  8. This vegan has incorrect statistics. The number of animals killed by crops is incredibly higher than cows are killed. The crops are not grown for the animals they are grown for humans the animals eat parts of the crops that you don’t eat.
Since when is using pesticides not killing on purpose.
Btw the animals that are in NZ are almost completely grass feed.
You are wrong vegetables do protect themselves they produce toxins that kill insects with their natural pesticides.
You’re calculations is completely wrong and if you n know anything about humans many of us can’t eat vegetables without being seriously sick.
None of your arguments are poor and you should do some better research.

  9. In my company, when we order food for some event, we order for colleagues who eat meat, for vegetarians, and for vegans. Then we, who eat meat have to listen for the whole evening to veg dicks telling us about our diet being this and that. They're saving animals by having a dog or a cat in their apartments, feeding them with dog and cat food (containing meat). They're not ready to keep a couple of cows, pigs, and goats as pets in their fancy, expensive apartments (they're all rich). They don't want to live on a farm and care for cows and sheeps there, to make their lives comfortable for 20 years. They say that it doesn't pay off. No way!

    I tried a veggie diet for a month and a half;

    1. After 3 weeks, the muscle atrophy started and I got weak. I came to the stage where I couldn't walk properly and everybody thought that I had cancer.

    2. From 55kg (121lbs) I dropped to 43kg (94lbs).

    3. Because of the lack of collagen, my skin was dehydrated and bleeding in micro-cuts from dryness. The microcuts needed a long time to heal and I always had them. It burned. My hair was weak and falling off and my knees (at the end of the experiment) started to hurt. I got used to eating bone marrow and cartilage because I needed extra collagen (every gelatin used in cakes and cookies is from beef and pig).

    4. When my cognitive functions started to weaken because my brain couldn't work without those enzymes (good cholesterol) I stopped with it and went back to a mixed diet.

My body can't use as much of amino acids (proteins) as needed from just a plant diet. I need every sort of meat (beef, pork, fish), too. I need eggs (I thought I'd succeed in my diet if I brought back eggs, but it wasn't enough). I tried snacking flex seed plates 3 times a day. Didn't work!

And now, even today, after all, I went through, some dicks on my work preach me about my diet during every company party! Only one of them zipped his mouth when I showed him my photo from that period.

  10. Non-vegans use the "crop deaths tho" argument in order to frame vegans as hypocrites. The problem with using the current Joey Acceptable (pesticides are okay) argument is that we are advocating for an alternate form of reducitarianism. Our current argument is that reducitarianism is not very acceptable at the level of food on the plate, but is acceptable at the level of food production. And the argument that "non-intentional" deaths are less egregious is flawed too. If we know the stats, how non-intentional is it in reality? The anti-vegans have not yet caught on to these hooks… They're a bit slow, but give them a few more weeks.

In reality, we can produce food from plants using no-till methods that provide living spaces to millions of millipedes, insects, spiders, skinks, lizards, snakes, turtles, squirrels, mice, earthworms, and microbes. In that kind of environment, all animals benefit from life supporting food production techniques. And so instead of counting the COST through number of deaths, we would be able to show the BENEFIT through additional numbers of lives supported, and re-establish our relationship with nature. We should be advocating for food growing systems that emulate no-till gardens. These small scale fruit / veggie producers already exist, and if we buy from them, more will start producing that way.

Some plants require protection during a part of the season from egg-laying insects. Those can be protected by using screen materials during egg-laying season. We do not need to defend with pesticides or herbicides. We need to support the expansion of veganic food production, such that there is a symbiotic relationship between animal life and plant life. eg Tomato plants that are nematode resistant should be planted by veganic growers instead of non-resistant varieties. Some plants for human food, such as okra, need no protection… Grow n go. Some varieties of okra are very good raw and they are high in several nutrients, including magnesium.

So our answer to the animal consumer would be that we buy from and support food producers who grow food in a synergistic and symbiotic way. The egg-laying moths would find suitable plants for her eggs in surrounding areas and reproduce using those. And when the harvest is finished, veganic growers can leave the plants for a few weeks for the insects to render to compost. Many of the organic plant food producers we can find at local produce markets are already using techniques that are animal friendly / vegan friendly. The best veganic growers are themselves vegan.

And those of us with about 6 x 8 meters of partly-sunny yard space, or less, and the time to do it, can grow a lot of our own organic and animal friendly foods.

  11. 1. there is no ethical consumption under capitalism.
    2. just because there is no 100% ethical way to live under the current system doesn't mean we shouldn't try to reduce harm.
    3. what is keeping him from being vegan is that he loves to eat meat.

  12. Your Nitrous Oxide flash slide is extremely misleading and attempting emotional rather than studied response. Cherry pic in context if you must but then your argument is not supported. Truth is unfortunately a casualty of the Vegan argument IMHO and the emotional platform is all that you have.

  13. If anybody wants to be Vegan and it's not bad for their body, do it, but not everyone can be healthy on a Vegan diet no matter how many supplements they take. Vegans really need to stop lecturing people. I know someone who was Vegan for 11 years and was literally on death's door, they had a varied Vegan diet and did it properly. But their body makeup was such that they needed meat, it's not good for everyone. The fact the man gave you so much time was great of him, but your pushing like that was nasty.

  14. The majority of beef cattle are raised on grasslands…. Cattle live in harmony with nature, they aren’t killing worms, birds, or any other creature🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ go to a Duran farm, a coconut farm, an orange orchard, find out how much life is killed so people can have fruits that’s aren’t native to the land they live on. I bought into the bag an bs as a kid, did raw vegan as a 22 year old, it’s utter bs. Go live off the land anywhere and see how vegan or vegetarian you can be. We are omnivores but thrive on carnivore, there’s a reason vegans are all nuts, their poor brains are shrinking due to malnutrition…
