VANLIFE SOUTH EAST ENGLAND

Join us, Carol & Ken, as we start a brand new adventure in our Consort Nova Motorhome called Snoopy.
In this series we are hitting up some of our favourite National Trust properties in South East England.
First up is Sheffield Park and Garden. We timed our visit well to see the magnificent waterlilies in all their glory on the ornamental lakes.
We show you around the cricket pitch that famously hosted a fixture against Australia in 1896 that was attended by 25,000 people!
After a tasty spiced cauliflower pasty for lunch we drive on to Rodmell to see Monk’s House, bought by the writer Virgina Woolf and her husband Leonard in 1919.
We show you inside this intimate home where they entertained many like-minded writers and artists.
Next, we head to Seaford seafront for our first night of the trip off-grid and Carol cooks up a one-pan salmon and prawn spaghetti.

  2. I noticed you're cooking on electric hob, off grid. Did you go for the gas free option on the Nova? I've just ordered a Nova and am not sure if I should go totally gas free or just have deisel boiler and use gas for the hob (I'm not having an oven). What do you recommend?

  3. The leaves are Gunnera leaves…thank you for showing us Monks House, it’s years since I went there. We stayed at Sissinghurst Castle Farm because I am a huge fan of Vita Sackville-West, Harold Nicolson her husband, Virginia Woolf, Lytton Strachey, Dora Carrington, the Bloomsbury Group, I’ve got lots and lots of books about them all..all Virginias books and all Vita’s 👍

  4. Great to see you back and thank you for sharing the start of your journey around some National Trust gems in the South-east. We are currently weighing up whether or not to join the National Trust or even English Heritage, so seeing your video has helped us a lot! Thanks, Andy and Cameron.

  5. Great video, love Sheffield park. Virginia Woolfs house fascinating isn't it?
Best bit for me was when you met Kev in Newhaven Sainsbury's and he did a selfie with you both, for me, I'm his wife and a subscriber to your channel. Thank you both 👍

  7. Reminds me of Sir Andrew Carnegie. Who when he became the richest man in the world bought Pittencrieff in 1902 for the people of his hometown Dunfermline.
If you ever go back to Scotland. It is well worth a visit.
As a child I have fond memories of the Glen.
    Enjoying your vlog once again.
