Carol did most of the work converting her 2012 Ford Transit Connect XLT to a camper. She said, “I figured if I could sew, I could cut wood!” And she did a great job. This was her first camping experience and her first women’s meetup.

Amazing Lady with an amazing van setup! She is correct. Just do it! Another thing is don't overthink it! Your van/Rig doesn't have to be brand new. But try and find a reliable affordable one. I'm two years into my van-life journey and I wish I would have done it sooner!

You can’t stand up, but you can sit on a bed with lots of storage underneath and lot of headroom on top. I can’t do that in my minivan camper. 🙂

What a great idea with the window screen and the reflectix! I think that's what I'll do when the time comes. I'm having a health issue, but big dreams. Carol is wonderful, creative, gracious. I'm so glad she got to experience her dream. I have an older little dog. I don't think he'd have enough room to roam in the van if we had bad weather. I'd love to meet Carol some day.
I put silver drawer pulls along the wood beside the kitchen stairs, and on the side of the entry door so Momma could hold on to something when she stepped into the house. They are shaped like the van door holder you use to get into the van. It has to be something her hand wouldn't slip off of. She could screw it into the wooden cabinet where she steps in. It works!
I have been dreaming about this for more than three years and still am not on the road. Transportation being the main issue, but I really want to do it. I will be 75 in Aug. my daughter keeps saying Mom you don’t need to be running all over camping you’re too old. I let her know that there are men and women in their 80’s and 90’s out there all ages are out having a good life. Am working on it. Hope to see you all on the road sometime soon.

Her van looks pretty cozy. I like the idea of the water container instead of full plumbing. Too many issues with mold that I've seen. Also having a portable battery to charge cell and lights is great. She's got sewing talents!❤
