Welcome to the Miami Youth Fair in Miami, Florida! This fair has been around for over 70 years, and I’ve been going there ever since I was a kid. But today, I’m on a mission. I’m on the hunt for the Cuban funnel cake sandwich! It’s a crazy, inventive concoction, and I need to find it!
The fair is a huge space where there are rides like Ferris wheels, roller coasters, chair lifts, and giant slides. Of course, you can’t have a fair without fair food—corn dogs, ice cream, hot dogs, turkey legs, you name it! But I’m here to try the strangest foods, and to find that elusive Cuban funnel cake sandwich!

GIANT CORN DOG AND PICKLE DOG FACTORY: Here, I tried their giant corn dog and their dilly dilly dog (a hot dog stuffed inside a dill pickle that’s then battered and deep-fried!
BACON CHEESE FRIES: Here, they gave me a mountain of curly cheese fries topped with melted cheese, ranch dressing, and bacon bits!
DONUT BURGER: Two glazed donuts dripping with grease and deliciousness with a thick beef patty wedged in between with all the fixings, onion, lettuce, tomato, cheese…it was truly a thing of dreams.
PICKLE JUICE LEMONADE: Imagine some delicious Lemonade…now throw some pickle juice into it. Yup.
DEEP-FRIED WIZARD MILKSHAKE: This decadent monstrosity is actually heavenly—it contains fried ice cream inside a creamy, rich milkshake!
CUBAN FUNNEL CAKE SANDWICH: After hours of searching, I found the Cuban funnel cake sandwich: a mountain of ham, pork, pickles, cheese, and mustard between two savory funnel cakes and grilled on a presser. Then, they top it with your choice of guava or mango marmalade!
