US Marines VS Royal Marines – A Canadian Soldier Reacts

This is a “Canadian Soldier Reacts” video. The purpose of this video is to get the reaction from a Canadian Soldiers point of view so that I can compare and contrast it to the Training and experiences that I had while in the 1st BN of the Royal Canadian Regiment from 1987 – 1998. I do a lot of talking in these because my intent is to “React” to the material and not to “Steal” someone else’s content. If you are not interested in my reactions, please watch the original video.

You can find the original video here.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q7duIOapzw&ab_channel=DefenseMilitaryReport

  1. I dont know what the anti tank weapon is called ,when you were talking about the CG the guy kneeling had the launcher sighting system hanging on his left the guy in a crouch moveing away was the weapons system No 1 he was carring the missile it comes in two parts once fired the missile canister is discarded the weapon system kept and the missile can be replaced the No 1 like in a Charle G team is the main spotter and saftey there will be other men in the platoon carying spair missiles like youd as a platoon would carry ammo load outs of mixed munitions

  2. Rotors will lift sand and give off light under certain conditions due to friction, and is mostly seen under NVGs. Was a common sight in the ME. The vehicle at 19:25 is a BvS 10 Warthog I think, sometimes called a Viking as well. Mainly used by RM Cdo Brigades, and I believe the Royal Artillery use them now too. The light ATV wagons are mainly used by Sgt Mjrs to CASEVAC to a safe LZ or shift supplies at short notice.

  3. Royal Marines work very closely with the Dutch Marines and frequently. I'm informed by those who have done so the Dutch Marines are considered integral to the Royal Marines tasks and are held in high regard by the bootnecks.

  4. WAKE UP AMERICA your just a nation trying to take success from nations that have been more superior in fighting than you will ever be. History proves this. Yes you may have more money more troops and some better equipment but this does not make you a Superpower. All you have going for you is being trained by superior Allies.

  5. I was never impressed by the USMC, that changed when I received as a Christmas present, a book " Devil Dogs". The USMC exploits in the Pacific theatre during WW2 , were "top notch"

  6. In 2006 the USS GUNSTON HALL, a Landing Ship Dock, deployed from Halifax NS as part of a Canadian Naval task group with 150ish R22R troops and at least 1 one of every type of vehicle the Canadian army had. US Marine mentors taught beach landing while the navy "fought" through real storms and simulated combat protecting GUN. The R22R then stormed a Marine training beach somewhere in the Norfolk area. All part of the "Big Honking Ship" initiative that eventually died.
I always wondered how the Marines and Van Doos got along 😀
