  1. These aircrafts are so terribly expensive to construct. It is a pity that they will be taken down by the CCP/PLA's missiles with very little effort in the coming war. The US should really think about an update of its general approach of developing new weapons technologies which go beyond this. The old, large, heavy and easy to detect aircrafts can only be used for large troup deployments in the hinterland. So they are about quite useless, when it is about the future war with the CCP/PLA in the pacific region. And another thing is that on all above geostationary levels the CCP/PLA is winning the war by the use of massive resources, personnel, gadgets like drones, missiles and equipments, satellites and whatsoever. So it looks very bad for the US military to keep its current status. The CCP/PLA is developing weapons in at least 10-times more quantity and quality, from superfast to agile, from intelligent to interconnected, from AI supported to being equipped with newest technologies of detection by wake-radar and the means.

  2. You guys should go to air depot at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma and check out the B-52 facilities. They're so small they have to remove the vertical tail and crab walk the plane in the hanger with about 8ft to spare on each side. They also do air depot work on the 135, B1, E3 and Navy E6.

  4. You are not gonna like this….What a pity the US cannot spend a few dollars on supporting the work of the folk in Laos trying to disarm the millions of land mines (via cluster bombs) that the US delivered very kindly to them in the Vietnam War? They are still to this day maiming civilians trying to earn a few bucks farming the land. Great aeroplane none the less!

  5. This is an excellent video. The remaining 76 operational B-52H's are 60 years old, We designed the B-52G/H in 1956 for high-altitude bombing. The emphasis in the structural design was minimum weight, to maximize range. But in 1961, at the height of the Cold War, we redesigned the structure to meet SAC's new, more severe usage and service life requirements. These notably included low level terrain avoidance training, often under extreme gust and maneuver conditions. The emphasis in structural design shifted to toughness and durability. The primary structural components are never replaced. The main reason for their longevity is that the usage has not been as severe as was projected. As Chief of Structures Technology at Boeing-Wichita at the time of the redesign. I am honored to say I chose the materials, the analysis methods, and the limiting stress levels for the redesign. I am now 95 and I am thrilled to see these planes still flying, and projected to do so for many more years.

  6. After serving 20 years as an aircraft maintenance officer in the USAF, I have yet to see a team consisting of mostly officers (5:32) perform maintenance tasks like the cowling installation shown. But officers are usually the first to jump in front of a camera when they see one. This is quite an insult to our elite enlisted corps.

  7. There are so many in accurate statements made in this video it’s clear that the narrators and producers have no clue what they’re talking about. When drag is greater than thrust the aircraft won’t even be able to get off the ground, and you say it “slows it down“. When Maintenance crews are working on this aircraft the engines are not running and making noise. With so many uninformed statements, briefly clear all you’re interested in is clicks and hits rather than providing accurate truthful information. This video demonstrates the garbage this on the Internet.

  8. EVERY MECHANICS NIGHTMARE – if this jet was owned by a corporation, they would have scrapped this money devouring monster years and years ago. But since the government maintains it with our tax payer money, who cares right? Retired AF Tanker/buff crew chief.
