US Coast Guard holds press conference on missing tourist sub in Atlantic Ocean

The US Coast Guard holds a press conference regarding the search for the submersible which went missing on Sunday during an expedition to see the Titanic shipwreck, with five people onboard.

Rescuers are expanding their search into deeper waters and are racing against time to find the missing submersible as its oxygen supply dwindles.

  2. i have to agree.. i think in the press conference they kinda said its about finding them.. i think they know there is no way they will be found alive sadly…. who in their right mind would pay the amount they paid to go down in a small tank like that with a laptop as controls??? just to see the titantic… there are plenty of images out there already .. this was a risky trip in the first place!

  3. This is not the first submarine case. Isn't it? Why one country/company after another goes to those depth with the same tech and same rescuse plan which had failed before? And then SOS. 5 or 6 years after this another too deep to rescue will happen again. ….

  4. One billion percent they are all dead. There is no precedence in marine history for a sub to lose sonar locator, transponder, and radio communication at the same time other than resulting from a catastrophic hull failure at five miles down. I won't be popular but I will be right. RIP

  5. It was 250k per ticket, no amount of money is able to bring the (more than likely) dead passengers back to life. Should the company Ocean Gate, give the money back to a family member of the deceased? It seems like the right thing to do.

  6. The part that makes me realize there's no chance of them being alive is that there's no sound and if they were alive they would be pounding and trying to make noise that would carries through water

  7. I’m nobody when it comes to this type of equipment, but I must say- I’m shocked that anyone would pay any amount and get on board a vessel that doesn’t have GPS or sonar?
All the 02 in the world won’t help anyway because they are FREEZING.
