‘Unusual values!’ Royal expert on the Queen, The Crown and James Bond | Gyles Brandreth interview. While the world waits to hear what broadsides Prince Harry and Meghan Markle launch at the royal family in their Netflix docuseries, those with longer memories may remember the King Charles III’s own criticism of his parents which ‘distressed’ his parents. That’s the view of the Queen’s biographer and friend of the royals, Gyles Brandreth, who believes that it was the public nature of the criticisms that hurt the most. In a very special Palace Confidential interview (Part 1), here’s what Gyles Brandreth talks about:

What did you think of the interview? Don't forget to tune into PART 2 tomorrow!
I love Gyles , he is like a warm cuddle blanket , and so knowledgeable 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is probably one of my favourite episodes you’ve done 👏 loved listening to all the personal beautiful stories of the late Queen, very fascinating and well presented ❤️ can’t wait to get the book and look forward to part 2 😊
I could listen to him all day.
Such an interesting, charming guest and a great interviewer who listens to her guests and just lets them talk. 🇨🇦
Excellent interview ❤
I absolutely agree with Prince Phillip and I have observed that there is a rise of mental illness accompanying this new focus on 'self'.
Ohhh… 😅I can just listen to Gyles for eternity! He is a story teller!
I like his knitwear always looks cute
I could listen to him forever, what a story teller, but I think it is the subject, I love anything about the Queen, and someone telling so great stories about her is marvelous!!
It all went wrong when Meghan visited Africa with Harry and found herself dancing with I fear she would look on as “nobodies” when her cravings lay overseas dancing with Hollywood “somebodies”. Before this, Harry said his family was “the family she never had.”
Good evening Jo, a very wonderful interview. I will definitely watch 2morrow night.
Love your outfit.
I think Charlotte is very much like the Queen. Not only in looks and mannerisms but how she helped George at gan gans funeral. Charlotte has that same caring nature
"why did they build Windsor Castle so near the airport'" REALLY????
Loved watching this episode! Looking forward to the next one
Wonderful interview! Palace Confidential is such a special program and I look forward to watching it every week. These author interviews are icing on the cake. Thank you Jo.
Wonderful interview indeed.
Oh! My.. I’ve to get one!!
That it is the best show that you did unti now. Bravo!
Brilliant interview indeed! Thank you for those rare insights into her Majesty's life and personality.
Methinks i'll buy your book
get him back on i could have listened to him for hours 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I would much rather read this book, "Elizabeth", than Haz's petulant piece of garbage, "Oh! Look at ME! I'm an Idiot", book‼️ "Spare" indeed! SPARE ME YOUR BS, Haz!!
I wish every other national leader on Earth had tried to emulate the late Queen's values, ethics, and sense of duty. Had they, the world would be a much better place today.
Now this is a book I want to read! Great interview, thank you so much.
What a wonderful interview! Can’t wait for part 2!!
I am so envious. I would have loved to have met our wonderful Queen. HM is greatly missed.💜
…Thank you Gyles, you forgot to mention that Mr Mandela called her Elizabeth & she called signed off her letters to him your friend Elizabeth R. King Charles once said Mr Mandela & my Ma'ma are BOTH extremely fond of each other.
Love Giles Brandreth, he’s so entertaining!
For once we have a fairly decent episide of this woke, ingratiating programme that normally has me turning off 10minutes after turning it on!
The woman had an extremely privileged life so this chit chat about the the “duty” makes me laugh. Also, Prince Andrew was accused of being a pedophile himself as he was supposedly having sex with a minor. Not for being merely associated with Epstein! Stop colouring things up. I won’t be buying the book. Sounds repetitive.
"She was an exemplar of goodness." Yes, she was. Thank you, Gyles Brandreth for your work on the Queen, and also "Prince Philip, the final portrait." I can't wait to read them both.
Wonderful, balanced interview.
When the truth about Andrew & that little grifter is finally exposed …the avarice of lamestream media will also be exposed.
Gyles is fantastic
