Soyeon is one of the IT girl literally!! Fight yourself if you disagree. Sneakers I like, but it was marketer before it came out as something it isn't Andi think that's why a lot of people don't like it, including me at first.
I have a confession to make and I know I'll be getting a lot of hate comments but I think that Blackpink failed this comeback. Before u go attacking hear me out. To me Pink venom feels weak. Rosé vocals seemed "flat" and felt like if there were some really powerful high notes in the bridge or last chorus she would have not been able to pull them off. Also the song should have had a powerful instead of catchy chorus cuz the concept looks like that of Everglow's First or Dreamcatcher's Boca. To me it felt like this song was a level higher for blackpink. A level they are not ready to reach yet. I believe that this song would have been better received by me if Aespa or Everglow or Stacy did it. They have amazing vocals that would have been able to suit the concept. The only thing missing were vocals amd they were not at all good. Idk why some blinks gave 10/10 for vocals when rating this song?

Sneakers give me "pick me" girl energy
Soyeon is a microcosm of the Kpop industry. She is an overachiever who has everything the entire industry has, but on a personal scale.
I have spent years disliking ITZY, they have failed to release a song that appealed to me. Then cam Sneakers, and I am finally a fan, of that song, and retroactively fell foe Dalla Dalla.
The best concerts I have ever attended, Apink, Red Velvet, and Dreamcatcher, were all in small, sold out venues.
NMIXX is a train wreck! They are in damage control mode, not rookie of the year mode.
What's bugging me is that international fans try to dismiss GIDLE popularity because it seems lack of popularity in US market and Japan market, but little they know, GIDLE have no contest in China, no 4th gen come close to GIDLE popularity in China. Last, they actually also quite popular in US because their title track sold more than 100k, and recently, got a platinum certification from RIAA. Become the frist and only 4th gen to do so.
The thing with gidle is that we don’t really associate them with 4gen they’re so 3 gen . But 3rd gen is prime kpop and gidle wasn’t at the level of bts blackpink or twice or even red velvet.
So when ppl talk about 3 gen it’s bts , twice , bp , red velvet
When ppl think about 4gen they think of ive, new Jean , and stuff

i think i would consider Soyeon as an ace and not an it girl. but the thing is, I think she should be an influencer because of her principles. people should listen her mindset interviews. getting to know her views about female empowerment and breaking free from prejudices is just so amazing. she seriously needs to be an icon for younger audience because I don't see a lot of idols advocating for things that she is advocating. most idols just sing, dance, look pretty but she wants to share what she believes in through her interviews and their songs as well.
I agree _World is a lot more "relistenable" than quite a few of there title tracks although it is subjective I still like the more creative catchy songs such as Homerun and Left and Right even though I don't listen to them as much casually, I love watching the reactions and the music video.

ive and le sserafim are my ults, and new jeans is also climbing up there. I love all the music to all three groups, so its hard to pick. all three groups have the charts, songs, and talent to win.
1. Regarding the Soyeon discussion, I think it's part of a bigger discussion around idol reputation inside of SK (and maybe Japan & China as well) vs favourites in the Western fandoms. There are many groups that people don't talk about much in the International sphere & have comparatively a small number of followers/subscribers (like G-idle, or Highlight for boygroups) but who have very high brand reputation in SK and definitely don't hurt for work.
2. For touring, I totally agree while I understand frustration planning a tour is really expensive (though there have been companies who searched for a bigger venue after realizing how many people wanted to go to the concert in the past). Also honestly stadium concerts are pretty overrated, a smaller venue is so much more interesting and intimate.
3. I agree so much about Seventeen, I'm definitely happy they are trying different styles (though I hope Woozi will never co-write with HYBE producers ever again…) and I did enjoy Homerun and Hot but that kind of song is just what they are the best at.
I don't love Sneakers but people were at least talking about it – which hey, all PR is good PR. (Don't dislike it either, but I loved Loco).

I love sneakers just like I love itzys fun concept. MITM is my favourite title track but songs like sneakers or icy fit itzy so well. The girls look like they just have fun while performing and i like happy/brighter concepts.

Personally, I don't think "It-girl/It-boy" discussion has always been about talent. Based on my experience, the "It-girl" of my high school has average grade. But she has this captivating aura, beautiful, rich, great fashion sense and she sets the trend which many of our students want to follow. She doesn't get into popular groups like popular kids usually do, but even the popular kids always want to be on her good side (though they also talk about her behind her back). That's why I've never thought of the It-girl/It-boy on Kpop as the most talented idols. Because if being the best in your field is the requirement to be an It-girl, the smartest student in my school would've been one 🤔
