Uniting the Mutants | Rimworld: Grey Goo #19

Allow me to continue to be sponsor free and keep saying naughty words: https://www.patreon.com/MrSamuelStreamer

Following a mysterious planet wide infestation, a shadowy organision unleashes a cure of modified luciferium, fueled by consuming waste organics, with the goal of curing the planet of the infestation. But as with all things Luciferium, it cures, but it takes away. Those cured from the infestation were left as horrible mutants, and the Luciferium mechanites evolved into Grey Goo! A sci-fi term for an unstoppable mass of nano machines that devour entire planets!

This is a hardcore survival series with a multitude of threats such as environment and base devouring grey goo swarms, grey mechanite infected ‘zombies’ that can pass the mechanites onto your colonists at a touch, and the much more human elements of sanity, human contact, and thirst.

  1. I know this playthrough is supposed to be difficult. But I feel like you should add a lighthouse that can give better visibility on the Island. Not the whole map of course, but just enough to cover the Island. If you want to balance it, you could make it take like 2000 Stone blocks to build and use 2000 power or something to run.

  2. I don't see why Scarab are bad guys? sure they doomed the planet, but it seems like they were simply the scattered super soldiers from the mushroom series who did what was necessary to save humanity from mushrooms. They messed up but there don't seem like an evil force and what better way to defeat the grey goo then call upon its creators to destroy it?

  3. At 3:44 the Mutant faction symbol changed, I wonder how long it'll take Mr. Streamer to notice
An argument can be made that at 6:55 he called out Bastions symbol changing and also noticed the Mutants.
The answer is no Mr. Streamer never Noticed the Mutant symbol

  4. Mr streamer missed a trick by destroying that mechanite immunite plus slow wound healing genepack.
Once he had it, he could stick pistol with enough gene removers to remove all her genes, then stick her with the genepack and have a 1 in 3 chance of getting grey mechanite immunity again rather than a like 1 in 11 chance as of current. Completely remove the compelling risk from each useage of a gene remover whilst solving all problems in a not particularly satisfying way.

  5. I love that the abandoned towns are full of little micromanaged, late game icepack buildings. The hardo four-beds-to-a-bedside-table formation? Chef's kiss.

Also, I adore this series, thank you.

  6. I feel like you shouldn't have gotten rid of that semi-bad genepack with the immunity.
It would still be useful for emergencies, just inject that in to someone who's infected and get stuff out later. Either you lose the whole thing, or you end up keeping it, either way the person is alive.
Or, because it's immunity, does it just affect getting the infection, not fighting it off or removing it if it's already on there?
