United Airlines made history earlier this week with a massive aircraft order from Boeing worth billions of dollars. This order consisted of 200 firm orders (100 each for the 787 and 737 MAX) and 100 further options for the 787. Such a massive 787 order marks the largest widebody aircraft order by an American carrier in commercial aviation history. This order along with last year’s 270 narrowbody Boeing and Airbus order really puts into place the future of United’s fleet. hi as aviation im a big fan also when is the next LHE/KHI/ISB update?
Hopefully United eill order MAX7s to replace 73G and A319s. Sure, the MAX7 will not meet deadlines, but look at how United kept their MAX10 orders despite how the MAX10 is equally unlikely to meet deadlines. Ordering the MAX7 over A319NEO will be logically consistent with United ordering the biggest variant of the A320NEO family instead of ordering the smaller Airbus counterparts.
I just want to see UA A350s but I guess it’s time to order a UA 787 model.
Ehat if UA briefly operates A350s but gives them to a partner like Lufthans Group, similar to LATAM's A350s that later went to Delta?
Yea the a350s are gone. Boeing is currently working on a 787-10ER and a -9HGW, and I imagine these will be the perfect replacements for the 777s, and besides, by 2030 the A350 will be nearly 20 years old. Nowhere near a new plane at least for me.
Now that the A350 has new sidewalls, what's the probability that at least 1 full-setvice carrier puts 10-abreast economy in 2029? Airlines that don't count as full-service include French Bee and similar
I think they'll opt not to refurbish older narrowbodies and replace them with the additional Max orders. The newer aircraft will stay and be retrofitted.
