Undertaker Shoots on Vince McMahon & WrestleMania Streak!

Undertaker shares shockingly heartbreaking truth about the day of losing the streak to Brock Lesnar and a secret meeting he had with Vince McMahon hours before WrestleMania 30 started.

Although The Undertaker was more than willing to do his job with no pushback, the Phenom recently admitted that he doesn’t think Lesnar should have been the one to conquer the streak.

Undertaker personally believes Roman Reigns would have been a better candidate. He noted that Lesnar was already a huge star who didn’t need the victory and that it would have “done much more for Roman Reigns.”

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Lennard Surrao of Sportskeeda) has an interesting explanation as to why Vince went with Lesnar – an established main event draw – over Reigns.

According to Meltzer, McMahon’s idea was for Reigns to get “revenge for the fans on the guy who broke the streak” by placing him in a feud with Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 the following year.

This obviously never went as planned. WWE began giving Reigns a serious singles push following The Shield’s split, hoping to make him the next major babyface and star of the company.

But the fans constantly booed and rejected Reigns, giving him the massive heel treatment instead. At any rate, he wound up meeting Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 31 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Of course, that match was won by Seth Rollins after he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract.

Things Slowly But Surely Worked Out
Reigns wound up handing The Undertaker his second WrestleMania defeat at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida. The former feuded with Lesnar again in 2018, defeating him at SummerSlam to become the new Universal Champion.

So all in all, things worked out in Vince’s end. Reigns wound up defeating The Undertaker at a WrestleMania event, and Reigns eventually defeated Lesnar in a marquee match to become the new champion. McMahon and Reigns, simply put, got the best of both worlds.

  1. I think I’m more bothered by who they had break it rather than it being broken. I like Brock, I think he’s a badass, but what did that do for him? Brock would be in the EXACT same position he is now, wether he won that match or not. I have to assume that means giving him that victory was a mistake because nothing shows me otherwise. Brock is the same wrestler he would’ve been.

I think if a star came up in that time that felt like the right choice and could benefit from the win, you break it. But if just nobody feels right, you leave it be.

  2. Worste decision. Brock was already so over we know he can beat any1 any given night. Didn't need to ruin the greatest streak that people don't hate in wrestling history. Ppl hate goldbergs bum ass streak. Ppl hate most streaks. Ppl loved this streak, and you ruin it just to get Brock more over? So effin dumb. What a waste

  3. For me it wasn't the fact that Lesnar broke The Streak, it was how it was done. It should've been a revolutionary kinda match, akin to 'Taker V's Foley in the Cell and Rock v's Foley's I Quit Arena match, only much more Epic.

  4. What a dumbass decision by Vince McMahon to this day it was stupid. because Brock didn’t need the rub at all. you could’ve gave it to Roman reigns or better yet. Bray Wyatt when he was white hot he could’ve used the rub instead they messed it up a dumb decision to this day.
