I wonder if any of the uncontacted tribes are building new pyramids in the jungle? I found this conversation interesting and while it is speculative it doesn't seem entirely unreasonable.

What happens to us when the lights go out? Imagine……
I wonder if these "uncontacted tribes" are descendants of escapees from the tribes who were destroyed by by the Spanish occupation and disease. If the Amazon was full of inhabitants prior to the Spanish, did these "uncontacted tribes" interact with the Aztecs, Maya, etc. In other words, were these people this way for thousands of years, or did they devolve due to some recent trauma?
They killed him because of fear. Fear is as well a result of a lack of knowledge and imagination.

This guy has the most pleasant voice of almost anyone on this podcast. The fact that he's talking about often misinterpreted cultures of ancient civilizations just makes it all the more engaging.

If they've seen a plane or helicopter, they've been contacted.
They do it out of preservation. Befriending outsiders rarely works out for the natives.

Currently our politicians have used fear and anger to mobilize a hateful mob willing to use violence for their cause.
The plea to turn down the political rhetoric is to late. The political extremes are willing and able to harm or destroy other Americans who sound different.
The politicians sowed the wind and America will reap the whirlwind.
Who would have thought tribalism leads to violence.
