A search is underway for a missing submersible that carries people to view the wreckage of the Titanic. The submersible had five people on board when it was reported missing on Sunday.
The U.S. Coast Guard said that a search was underway Monday about 900 miles off the coast of Cape Cod in Massachusetts.
Everett-based OceanGate Expeditions confirmed it owns the missing vessel. A submersible is different than a submarine. A submersible is ferried out to the location where it will go underwater, and it’s able to resurface on its own, whereas a submarine is able to travel on its own power.
“We are exploring and mobilizing all options to bring the crew back safely,” the company said in a statement to KING 5. “Our entire focus is on the crewmembers in the submersible and their families.”

This case is already closed. They are long dead… the titanic is a mass grave sight and by making it a tourist attraction, these rich folk and their operator angered something. God knows what they saw through the sub’s windows in their last moments… spirits? An unknown creature? The keepers of the sea? A monster? I don’t even want to know. With the amount of land based cryptids and unexplained disappearances on the Appalachian trail and in the mountains out west, I don’t even want to know what horrors lurk beneath the deep dark sea…
So do the customers get refunds?
Have to wonder if anyone can build something like this and offer rides to the public without some sort of inspection/certification process? I am sure the waivers passengers sign cover every eventuality. Pictures inside look barebones, no seats, controlled with something looks like from Toy R Us. Must be cold as hell down there too if no power.

Unfortunately, I have no sympathy for stupid rich people who waste resources on their own selfish purposes. They could have helped thousands of people or animals in need but instead, decided to waste money on themselves.
