“Ultra Instinct came out of nowhere”

Ultra Instinct is a form for Goku that has amazing foreshadowing! It was built up towards throughout all of Dragon Ball Super and even has retroactive connections to the lessons Goku learned in Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z.

  1. It was first hinted at in og dragonball when popo was training goku to be a "rock". The manga explains it better in a segment with roshi where goku pulls together all the training and knowlege from his various senseis over the years.

  2. "It was first hinted at by Whis in the Resurrection F movie"
WRONG. It was first hinted at by Mr. Popo in the original Dragon Ball, during the Archdemon Piccolo Arc, when Mr. Popo taught Goku to move instinctively, because doing so was the only way for Goku to become powerful enough to stand a chance against Piccolo.

  3. Look ultra instinct did come out of nowhere. Like yes it’s been foreshadowed since beginning of dbs but goku gaining that power is out of nowhere. Like since when did getting close to death just make ur body move on it’s own?

  4. I'd argue UI, the form, was not foreshadowed, UI, the technique/skill/ability/whatever you want to call it, was foreshadowed. UI as a form was pulled out of nowhere for merchandising, when ironically, it wouldn't have felt as weird if the powerup form had been granted upon Goku achieving the ability naturally, since the form looks angelic enough to understand it. Like the manga, but even moreso than how the manga did it. The anime version especially instead just made it into a flashy powerup that we are told makes him dodge better even though being faster than an opponent from a powerboost already does that.

  5. When you said Virginia spent 5 years and 6 months and 2 weeks in the child time chamber you're wrong because he used 1 year 2 years and 3 more years in the time chamber so that means it's actually 6 months and 6 years and 2 weeks

  7. Actually goku wasnt in a meditative state when bulma attacked him, he was taken out of that state by the car hitting him and was just relaxed.
He was concentrating on meditating and keeping a calm mind, which is something you SHOULDN'T do when using ultra instinct, since your mond needs to be empty

  8. I mean, if you watched him train with Popo back in the original series, it is all about moving without thinking. It was something that all great martial artists should hope to aspire too.
