  1. The best defence is not to be there.

That was something i was told when i started Judo and Taekwondo by my stepdad at a young age. Grounding me to not think my training was a guaranteed means of protection.

  2. My mate Andrew Smith (Smudge) was a stick man, absolutely fkn insane! (Hello piggywiggy) he taught me how to drink. His favourite tipple… Barley wine (gold label) and cider snakebite, yep I kid you not! Left with "exmplary service" in his red book and the rest…Now a full blown Christian!

  3. So they're basically running with a bag of sand or a bag of cement on their backs, which is what i use to visualise it as they're on average between 22-25kg each. That's for UK viewers as it gives a good way to put rhe weight into perspective.

  4. If you don't have BJJ near you or if you're lucky to have a variety of martial art lessons available. I absolutely recommend Judo. So underrated right now, but its a great discipline to learn.

  5. I saw Van Damme in the Midland Hotel in Manchester. We were both staying there to watch the U.F.C event where Bisping Knocked out Sinosic. He was next to me at the booking in desk. Im only 5'11" and i thought he was a proper short arse…then i noticed he was wearing cuban heels to try and boost himself up a bit, blert.

  6. I joined the paras in 1979 at just over 17 years old and passed but I respected people that had done selection twice or three times to join the regiment, really good interview took me back thinking about it

  7. Great video, P company, where everyone rattles around with 50 mg brufen, the army’s cure for all illnesses 😄, burgen burns on your back, blisters on your feet covered in zinc tape, shin splints, but when you pass it’s the greatest feeling in the world

  8. Dodge. As a headphone listener. Please mount the mics OFF the table. Or at least tell the guests not to keep banging the table. Constant thumping nearly made me turn it off 😢

Please take this in the nicest way possible. I love your podcasts ❤
