UK's aircraft carrier returns to sea HMS Queen Elizabeth carrying advanced combat drones

UK’s aircraft carrier returns to sea HMS Queen Elizabeth may leave for Indo-Pacific in 2024. Adm. Ben Key, the UK’s First Sea Lord, said recently that the fleet looks ahead to a time when the air wings of both the navy’s aircraft carriers are made up entirely of uncrewed aircraft. Even a few years ago, that might have seemed far-fetched. Today, the technology to make it possible is all available now. The British military leads the world in remotely piloted aircraft systems and it’s poised to pull even further ahead.

  1. Another two..we can’t man the ones we have let alone put 36 f35 on each….one of the two carriers will be layer up in reserve for years to save money if not sold or scrapped…king kier will shrink defence even further 😂😂😂😂😂

  2. I said this 2 years ago, scrap the F-35's they were going to be a maintenance/money pit and fit the hangers for drones… One of the first Autonomous drones to be flown/tested was BAE's Taranis, flown in 2013. Reported that the UAV was autonomous, had strike & air to air capability why has this thing not progressed..!! Russia's S-70 Okhotnik (Hunter) drone "has" engaged ground targets in Ukraine while reports have stated that it has engaged in combat patrols as a "wingman" to the SU-57. It's only a matter of time before the S-70 gets a version of the AL-51F engine (used in the SU-57).

  3. Brilliant, but what worries me is that we have just experienced a worldwide outage of IT networks because of a software glitch. How secure are these military satellite system's. Let us hope that we don't have to face that experience
