Ukraine's Potential Effect On Escape From Tarkov

What is going on in Ukraine is a tragedy, and that in no way do I downplay and make light of the situation. I do want to let the Escape from Tarkov community know about potential side effects from the conflict on the game Besides the people in Ukraine who played the game, who my heart goes out to, there have been some developments that could have a dramatic impact on the video game with the sanctions.

We have not heard from BSG, or Nikita almost at all since the conflict broke out between Russia and Ukraine. In this video, we talk about the potential reasons why, and some potential fallout from the conflict.

I want to show my support for those Ukrainians displaced from their homes, and to any fallen soldiers. Hopefully we can have peace soon.

  1. I wondered about this a long time ago as an after thought. A week ago I figured that we may be cut off from the game for sure. If so…oh well. I'll sacrifice not playing a game for the sake of the Ukraine and it's people. We can hold out for something different which will for sure fill the gap if this happens.

  2. Any streamers making an income from Tarkov, or any other Russian owned game, need to think long and hard about what is ethical here.

I'm sorry, but anything Russian needs to be boycotted right now. We all understand that BSG are of course innocent here and I wish them well. But unfortunately, they still pay their taxes to the Kremlin. The only way this is going to end without world war 3 is if Putin is stopped by pressure from his own people.

I personally have quit playing Tarkov for now. I know this won't effect things as I'd already purchased the game. But I was planning to upgrade to EoD, which won't now happen. I also won't be watching or supporting any more Tarkov content (after this video…).

I love the game, but this is small price to pay. There are many other great games.

I feel for the people of Ukraine and hope this ends well for them soon. I will do what little I can to aid that outcome.

  3. BSG is based in London, UK. So the business will continue to exist. How this will effect money flowing to St. Petersburg, the devs and employees is another question.

  4. Hi all. I want to let you know that i will be removing rumors. There is one of a battle state games firing an employee, and i looked for half an hour and translating his tweets, and i have concluded it is a mis-information campaign. You can Google it and find the post to come to your own conclusions. I will however pin anything like that if there are sources and evidence. Thank you, cztl

  5. Well Russians have to live with terrorist tag on thier nation whole life. 🙂 if Nikita says nothing or does nothing about it, its his fault as well in some sort. Russians choose go to closing IKEA instead saying agiants war. If they do nothing fuck them. Btw uninstalled EDF, you all should do that as well.

  7. yes, that was my first thought when i heard that the west is thinking about maybe banning russia from swift.

apart from the horrific tragedy that is taking place in reality in ukraine, it is a really strange time for the game and the playerbase, I guess. with uncertainy lingering in every corner. so like even more I'm happy I stumbled upon your channel 😛

  8. If there is any impact it will likely be with Battleye. They are a German company who could be blocked from doing business with BSG. They can always pay for servers through their UK office.

  9. Potential can be the game being shut down temporarily and a low chance of shutting down completely. Idk which one would happen but it’s war anything can. I stopped playing this game a while ago but what disgusts me is that some cheaters from china and other Asian players goes to Ukraine servers just to get more loot as there are less players and destroying other’s experience which might be the last just really disgusts me

  10. It's really odd people want BSG to make a statement. Especially coming from the people who believe putin is a dictator who disappears people. Like asking BSG to say something is fucked up. they need to shut the fuck up. Crstalli thank you for making that point.
