Ukraine's Oddball Weapons No One Expected to See

The war between Russia and Ukraine, raging since February 2022, has shown the world how both militaries have resorted to old World War 2 and Cold War-era weaponry and makeshift tools or vehicles to gain the upper hand on the battlefield.

The Ukrainian forcesโ€™ impressive resourcefulness can be seen in their unconventional and unique-looking Mad Max-style civilian vehicles that they have modified to fend off the waves of Russian infantry and armor.

These heavily armed trucks, paying homage to the classic 1980s series of movies of an apocalyptic future, are fitted with all sorts of salvaged guns and improvised armor Ukraine has crossed paths upon to fight the enemy.

While Ukraine is constantly receiving new armored vehicles from Western nations, these Mad Max vehicles remain the backbone of the ground forces.

  2. Ukraine's ingenuity, courage, responsiveness, and resourcefulness has led to legendary examples of innovation, modification, adaptation, improvisation, imagination, and necessitation that has saved their lives, democracy, country, and freedom. Ukrainians are the children of the mother of invention. They are on God's side and have accessed a source of power and strength that will prevail over ruzzia every time. Everyone has access to this power–they only need prepare themselves to receive it.

  4. I wish Japan would send them a few hundred or thousand AWD Subaru's! Or the UK send Range Rover's, and Toyota to send Land Rover's. All of which can be converted easily into high performance combat vehicles.

  5. Understand, the USSR stood ZERO chance during the Cold War w/o Ukrainian brains. Kiev (something something) School graduated some great engineers. Itโ€™s a highly respected institution.
Theyโ€™re future Military Industrial Complex is going to impress some & cause fear in others.

  6. "These madmax vehicles remain the backbone of the ground forces." Sure buddy, whatever. The vast majority of the videos on YouTube are proof that this statement hyperbolic BS!!! Sure, the madmax vehicles plan a role, but not the roll of the backbone, something u don't appear to have yourself, so u make YouTube videos with fake news to generate clicks.

  7. Why do people producing videos keep adding loud music to annoy viewers and distract from what is being said?
I'm not even going to bother watching this as every spot in the video that I fast forwarded to had loud, irritating music.
No, the music doesn't make the video more exciting nor does it make the producers of the video seem more impressive or important.
    It just annoys viewers.
It's also a sign of a video production team that is trying to cover up lack of substance by blasting loud music somewhat like a salesman selling a questionable product talking loudly.

  8. My favorite is still the Lada 2105 (a Russian version of the 4-door Fiat 124 sedan). Ukranians cut the top off, remove the back seat, and put a machine gun mount (and machine gun) back there. Not much armor protection, but the Ukranians are working with what they've got !

  9. Domestically produced drones in Ukraine have destroyed way more hardware and personal than US supplied drones because of their vastly greater number and range. You wouldn't know that from this video. They are the weapons that have been destroying massive Russian armament stores and oil refineries and oil storage which are having a big impact on the war.
