UK would run out of ammunition 'in two weeks' in a war against Russia

If British forces were at war with Russia they would run out of ammunition in “two weeks”, according to the Chair of the Defence Committee.

Talking to Forces News, Tobias Ellwood MP said that the UK has gifted so much equipment to Ukraine that it would have a “shortfall” of its own if it was to tackle Russia itself.

“The amount of ammunition that Ukraine is expending, if we went to war, we’d run out in two weeks,” Mr Ellwood said.

  1. If it’s rifle rounds I wouldn’t worry America has more than enough production to help. Hell our civilian population have more guns then US military and plenty of rounds to go with them.

  2. 😂What makes you think a war with Russia would last 2 weeks? We can't even protect our borders against the invasion of illegal immigrants, never mind the Russian army.

  3. Well i guess this problem is solved in a few more month of fighting in the Ukraine. THen all the remaining old sowjet ammunition will be gone. Thats the good side of the war. Disarming Russia.

  4. I have to say that China is not a threat to Europe nor anyone but Taiwan. So saying that they are a huge problem is mere propaganda. I cannot believe that the fact that China is getting richer and stronger, peacefully is a threat to Europe. They are the only ones who can challenge this pathetic woke imperialist world order.

  6. It is UNIMAGINABLE, the incompetency of the state managers of the UK that it is on the table to come into direct conflict with Russia or any other country. It is such an INCREDIBLY DEEP lack of any sense or willingness to stand up against defunct and otherwise ineffective policies within not just foreign policy but also within domestic and social policy that this situation is being allowed to erode into another cold war type circumstance. WHO CARES about how much ammo we have when there is ample power within the UK's international political economy to sway this situation into at the VERY LEAST a less agitated and more viably a diplomatically resolved situation – NUCLEAR WARHEADS ARE ON THE TABLE; NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR RIFLES WHEN THE WARHEADS SET OFF – Our foreign policy state managers are cocaine snorting venomous fiends who consist of as much moral integrity as Stalin himself. What a shame for us all that the political economy of our nation (which could easily be number 1-3 in most measures of well ran statehood internationally speaking) is being used to expound a neo-gregarious, immature and narcissistic mix of grandstanding, big man syndrome and Chamberlainist cowardice on the world stage. Shame on your State Managers of Britain.

  7. This is a stupid argument. The chance of Britain alone having to go to war with ANY country is next to Zero unless it's Argentina in the Falklands again. If anyone attacks Britain, all of NATO steps in especially the US with its 800 Billion dollar defense budget! And right now, China has a huge Economic headache that I don't think it's going to think of any war unless it is against Taiwan.

  8. 48 x F35-B are not enough even to ensure ONE carrier can host a minimum credible strike airwing, let alone the c60 platforms (all types) incl up to 48 fast jets that each ship is capable of operating as a max strike airwing.

  9. the ammo manufacture in uk which i think is owned by BAE at present are only running at half capacity so running low on ammunition (Bullets) is not the thing i think the UK will run out of. missiles and drones. and bombs i think would be more of a worry

  11. Wow UK great job wasting ammo on Russia. Now the UK is weak and Russia has loads of ammo and tanks. I am going to leave the UK on March 2023 because it's getting near that the UK will be poor soon
