1000 legitimate soldiers quitting monthly . Just remember our nation is worth more than a military as we the people are the cannon fodder 🫡🏴🙏
Very interesting , brother was in parachute regiment
AB ALL THE WAY BROTHER FROM A OLDSWET self an ex'service AB ex'2para FROM the shot'days m8 green on mucker!!
I don’t think it’s as tough as the 82nd airborne training! Most of them have failed the green beret selection and sent to airborne.
All of them was tough until a girl passed the P Company Course then you know its not so tough anymore.Perhaps the toughest training there is at the moment is Special Forces selection week, good luck to all those crazy enough to try💪.
I did P company on my 11th week of training with 387 Platoon in 1974. I directly enlisted into the Parachute Regiment and can still remember Cpl Pinky being in charge of us new arrivals.and Nobby Arnold our RSM at Browning Barracks, Aldershot. When my Platoon passed out I went on to serve with 3 Para.
Good Lads 👍 Yeah I don't knows if this goes for the US Army Paratroopers but when we had the Marine corp "Recon" over for training they told me they jump, static line, at lowest 1000 feet in peace and 500 feet in war. They then train under different parameters then in war. Never a good thing. We have our low static jump at 300 feet always. Same parameters as in a war. And still when they jump they have medic units ready as injuries are common. Something e seldom see when we jump. I think this is the thing. US training isn't consistent or take to much into account the fact it's just training. We train as if it is a war. And I guess the UK troopers do too.
…the reason is actually because the U.S. watered down its airborne school ~1974 to allow women to pass. The standards are hardly standards there anymore. It was a longer course and the runs were legendary a ala WWII era. Even in 2002 10 pull ups not a requirement, it was just 'do your best' and the girls could barely hang on to the bars. The best comparison to the paras is the 75th ranger regiment, especially if you are comparing numbers. Half of U.S. airborne school is to give cadets and junior officers something shiny and cool looking to put on their uniforms.
No information about US paratroopers? Click bait title gets reported
non of them are as tough as swedens paratroopers!
Wish the us airborne would have something like p company, other than the infantry paratroopers the us has to many unworthy people walking around with jump wings and a p company would get rid of most of them
6 SBS guys being investigated now for alleged war crimes. Ex vets homeless, while boat arrivals are put in hotels. I'd tell this country to shove it now. Not a chance I'd consider enlisting again.
I worked with some US Airborne chaps in 1999. My CSM was having a conversation and was amazed that the US Para course was three weeks. Never heard about it since! Ours is rather longer and thorough! But as I was always told – if you are going to do a job, do it properly. My lasting respects to the late, great CWO4 Jack Goldman – '101'.

School education and sports (preparation)
Sympathy for poor students with a standard government education
Australia is not that different
Dreaded PE (school) PT (military) cold mornings in shorts.
Old school marching and shin splints (tough)
Sports and Fitness should be fun.
The purpose of fitness is to be prepared for battle (Not other people's opinions)
Battle dependent (Not other people's opinions) Charge of the Light Brigade, A Bridge too far (Tell them to F#@k off)
Tactical or Suicidal speed?
Quick or Deliberate attack?

Instructors and students undermining other students and student groups undermining instructors. (typical issues)

Pass rates should be high due to better prepared students
