UH-OH: Dragon Age director is OUT after the FAILguard FLOP – Bioware is closing down the studio?!

The director for Dragon Age the Veilguard, the self-proclaimed Queerosexual Gendermancer, has apparently left Bioware based on a leaked email. Rumors are also swirling that the Edmonton branch of Bioware, which did the bulk of the work on Dragon Age, is being shut down next month. It seems that there are consequences for creating a game that flopped as hard as The Veilguard.

  1. They are on strike three with EA. It's time to start bailing and sending out resumes. Maybe she can try her hand at working at a consultancy firm. Or, since Microsoft and Sony are intent on ruining their brands, maybe she can get a job directing a game at one of their studios.

  10. I honestly stopped buying/supporting EA games over a decade ago. EA doesn’t care about their players anymore more the the dollars they can extort you for at the lowest possible price point. I hope EA as a whole goes down!

  12. When will the rest of the industry take a look around? DEI DOES NOT WORK. It will sink your company, period. But if they're so hellbent on destruction, new companies will rise and take their place. They already are. Larian, Arrowhead, Shift Up, Rebel Wolves. These are our new big names. Greed will never trump creativity.

  13. These activists lost nothing, they left with a big paycheck, doesn't matter that the little people had to work for this hack and lose their jobs in the end.
    This "dude" because he is, left ahead of time so it wouldn't look bad that the studio closed because of him.
    Hope we eventually find a way to hold these hacks accountable, just like Sweet baby, too many times they have fcked things up and left with a big payday.

  16. DA had a large enough fan base and enough anticipation built up over 10 years to make this a no brainier and a easy success. They could have done a carbon copy of inquisition just like the COD franchise does and still be successful. I guess the point I am trying to make is that they literally went out of their way to make this game fail. The game was already a success before they got their hands on it.

  27. No one in their right mind will ever hire that gendermancer if they want to push out a game.
    I'm playing it safe and won't be buying games this year until the West starts to rebuild and the slop is pushed out og the gaming industry.

  28. On the one hand, the head of such a failure getting DAS BOOT is a great thing to see. But they shouldn't have allowed for a "dignified" exit. They should've said it, loud and clear, that it was a disgraceful game that cost the company millions of dollars, devalued their stock, and tanked a franchise that SHOULD have been a money printing venture. Hell, there had been actual hype for a Dragon Age game and it had been 10 years since the last game in the series.
    And now that good will is gone.

    Speaking as someone that grew up with BioWare games being excellent RPGs (I had the og KOTOR and I played the Mass Effect Trilogy as it came out)…I forgave the lackluster ending to Mass Effect 3. I forgave the laziness of Dragon Age 2. I even forgave Mass Effect Andromeda for its…everything. And I was willing to overlook Anthem's everything by saying that it was obviously their first attempt at a live-service model and that it didn't pan out.

    But, like most people, I have too much other stuff going on in my life to keep giving chances to a studio that is obviously not the one I grew up with and that has been taken over by people that hate me for wanting gaming to be about escapism and a power fantasy where I am not bound by the laws of reality and/or physics and not for being about current political topics or about their feelings.

    So, I will say this: good bye, BioWare. I'll remember you fondly for the good games you gave me during the Xbox and Xbox 360 era of gaming and I will do my best to ignore the ghoul wearing your skin and answering to your name for as long as it lasts.
