  2. Again, they can demand whatever they want. In the end it us, customers, that decide with our wallets. They seems to forget in what industry they operate. Entertainment. Something that is not essential and can be satisfied by many different means.

  3. The part that kills me is that I bought Odyssey, Origins, and Valhalla for the escapism of immersing myself in another culture and time period. I would’ve 100% bought Shadows too, if it had even simply had a Japanese protagonist. Who doesn’t want to explore being a samurai in feudal Japan? Being a social stigma and outcast in the same time period miraculously elevated to a position of power? Nah, I’ll pass.

  4. 4 years ago when ubisoft gave me a lifetime ban for bringing up the d3d device removed error on ac valhalla and pretty much got told by ubisoft all pc gamers are scummy pirates with shitty failing hardware because their crappy game kept crashing on my brand new pc.

I told that ubisoft employee in my email that I hope ubisoft as a whole goes up in flames for such crackhead behaviour someday.

Well shit lol I got my wish didn't I 😂

  5. They are trying to do with gaming the same they did to food. Multi-reprocessed toxic crap that is manufactured (not grown anymore). They make 5 pounds of meat out of 3 ponds of actual animal.
Same they are doing with gaming.

  6. I have bought every Assassin's Creed game since the first one, even the 2d ones, and if with some of the faults (like Unity's completely broken co-op at release) I've enjoyed them, Black Flag and Valhalla being my favorites. Shadows though will be the first one I skip. If Ubisfot wants to push SBI and Yasuke's made up legacy, they can kick rocks. The original main character was a japanese monk and it feels like they just shoehorned Yasuke into the game to pander where-as other "diverse" characters like Adèwalè actually fit into the story. And Ubisoft thinking they could change Japan's rich enough history is just DEI brainrot.

  7. Nope, nope and nope i and many others who are NOT the modern audience do not have to accept any woke slop that is presented to us.

I bet they all thought geeks and gamers would be push overs for this DEI nonsense 😂

  8. There is barely any character growth in any Ubisoft games, at one point they need to stfu and stop with happy meal gaming. No one cares anymore, make your character green it doesn't matter morons, you are talentless, a game like Disco Elysium got more writing than any of your last 10 years games. Insulting our intelligence too many times. Niquez vos mères

  9. It seems Ubisoft seems to be so misguided by their actions and reasons, believing it to be with the best of intentions. Well, to quote Dr Alan Grant from Jurassic Park 3, “Some of the worst things imaginable have been done with the best intentions.”

  10. They are not getting a penny out of my wallet as long as Sweet Baby Inc is involved in any of their games or in their Company. Their DEI is nothing less than purposeful destruction of Culture, Values and traditions with a Marxist Communist foundation.

  11. It is going to take the complete collapse of a major game studio to wake the industry up unfortunately. These developers need to realize they are in no position to demand ANYTHING from gamers aka their customers. As a number of woke devs have said 'Don't like it? Don't buy it!' and that has been happening in 2024 quite often, pretty sure game companies have lost well over a billion dollars this year and with coming releases in 2025 that are too late to stop then they are in for a loss of at least that much as well.
To the devs at these companies that have opposed the DEI oppression I hope they are able to move on to a better company, to the rest I hope they leave the industry as they are not wanted or needed by gamers. I'm all for letting these companies rot and hope something better grows in its place.

  12. Just simple cuz there's no one to talk to.
    Not to buy the game.
The other problem is they don't care if those companies going to close there are deliberate destroying everything.
So you need to look who's behind those people who are pushing this abomination.

  13. I can't understand how in a game where you supposedly have to be hidden or not attract much attention (assassin) Ubisoft decides to put a giant black man as the protagonist. You know what would be an interesting thing? That he was always in armor and with a mask so that he would go unnoticed in the crowd. And in key scenes he took off his helmet to surprise his murder victims.

  14. From what I can gather historically an artificial island was built in Nagasaki harbour to house non-Japanese merchants from the early 1600s to the mid 19th century.

You did have a select few such as William Adams and his surviving shipmates on his ship that was shipwrecked in Japan remaining in Japan in the early 1600s. He was also forbidden to leave Japan until 1613. From what I understand, there is more documentation reference William Adams and his status as a Samurai and he also followed Japanese customs quite closely.

With Ubisoft, usually you don’t buy the game outright but wait a few months until the price comes down by which time a few patches fixing some of the bugs have been released.

Are you going to bring up and complain about Shogun, because one of its main characters is John Blackthorne who is loosely based on William Adams? Fair is fair, if you are going to criticise one for having a non-Japanese lead, should you not criticise the other? Granted Shogun took a great deal of care to be as historically authentic to the period despite being a fictional tale.

You can also criticise Tom Cruises character being a Samurai in the Last Samurai film.

Ubisoft on the other hand have been sloppy and careless with things like Chinese architecture, or using re-enactment flags in concept art and other things. If you are going to boast about historical research then you have to take care with these things and not be complacent about people consuming the product. My main worry for the game is whether it will be like Odyssey and Valhalla: big, bloated mediocre slush.

In the video ‘Assassin's Creed Shadows: Who Are Naoe and Yasuke?’ Brooke Davies does acknowledge that little is known of Yasuke which to be fair is true, that Yasuke arrived in Japan in 1579 (she does not mention that he was a slave of the Portuguese) and that he had relationships with important people like Oda Nobunaga. She goes on to say weaving these facts with story in-between. She also describes ‘our Yasuke’, which along with the above points implies a fictionalisation of the character in the game rather than as fact.

Continuing with that point it is important to say Assassins Creed is fiction and never has been real 1 to 1 history and you get ‘inspired by historical events this worth of fiction….’ bit at the load up of every game. Assassins Creed also has sci fi and fantasy with the ISU and recently myth dressed up as ISU. You as Ezio have a fist fight with the pope in the Vatican as an example.

To be clear and for the sake of clarity, I am not saying Yasuke was a Samurai because from what I understand he wasn’t and he has been promoted for the purpose of the game.

In terms of characters not from a location the game is set in that you and other critics have brought up in previous videos, Ezio goes to Constantinople in Revelations 58 years after it was taken by the Ottomans, Haythan goes to the American colonies in AC3, although the colonies were part of the empire at that stage, Haytham wasn’t a native colonial. Edward in Black Flag while appropriate being an out of work privateer going pirate at the end of Queen Anne's war, he is not a native of the West Indies, Eivor a viking is not a native of Anglo-Saxon England, or Ireland or Francia but is appropriate due to the Viking invasions. Guess this doesn’t fit ‘The Message’. The point here being, this is not the first time a character not native to the country the game is set in is nothing new in Assassins Creed and I don’t remember either you or other critics being annoyed at these examples.

Fiction in entertainment whether books, tv, film, video games do stretch history to varying degrees with varying degrees of tolerance for it. Examples are Braveheart, The Last Kingdom and The patriot which are not historically accurate at all and stretches history considerable, but you and your mates don’t complain about that, and in Rome you have Titus getting Cleopatra pregnant which didn’t happen, and no complaints there. By the standard set for AC Shadows, these are changing and rewriting history as well.

  15. They had these kind of issues during the 1940s and 1960s during the civil Rights era when certain companies were choosing to double down on certain values guess how people fought back. They stopped buying the shit made by those companies. So are you mindless consumers out there that keep buying the shlop if you really want these companies to change stop buying the shit that's the only thing that's going to make a difference is if we all collectively decide we aren't going to buy shit that we don't want.

  16. why would i want to play black brother who is appropriating Japan culture instead of Japanese Samurai.. also im so fed up with having gay character in every game! it kills all immersion for me.. seeing 2 male characters making out makes me literally sick to my stomach and i do not want to be forced to watch it. it has been 2 years since i bought my last tripe A game and i am mostly sticking to indie stuff

  17. We will accept the game the way it is. We will also not be purchasing the game. You demand the loss, you got it. Don't come crying foul when your company suffers the losses. We gave you the chance to fix it. You chose to ignore. We can do the same.

  18. Yo EndymionTv, I too, am unaware of ANY Japanese female being allowed to use weapons outside of the defense of one's home Historically. When they did it would be either the Tanto, (knife) or Naginata, (pole arms), never a Katana or Wakizashi, as these were the 'Soul' of the Samurai. Thanks for the Post.

  19. I don't know if it was a delusion of mine, but I remember Ubisoft saying that they were doing a game more historical accurate than any of the AC games. Yasuke wasn't a samurai, and wouldn't be even today, even women who were trained as a men, to be a warrior, weren't called samurais, so why a black man who's from abroad would be considered one? Being a samurai was a honor, not for everyone

  20. All they needed to do to save themselves so much freaking problems is make a character creator and say that you are an original character. No they are going to die on this hill. The most stupid reason ever, cause they just HAVE to have their history revised character. Can't wait for Assassins Creed: The New World where you play as the historically accurate, navigator who discovered the New World! Kirtoff Collumbus aka Lil Mina Pinta Santa Maria.
First album We Be Finding New Worlds
    with the hit single
"Now all de whites dead we can oppresse Indians"

Well he founded the new colony BigWilliestown. Big Willie being the soundcloud rapper who took over command.
Very rich history, when Pocanhontas tried to broker trade between the settlers and the Native Americans, she came back to her father knocked up, the Chief was faced with the daunting task of finding the father, out of the possible 6 candidates. Also all of the food rationed to last them for 2 years was gone by the halfway point of the voyage so they just started rioting and looting from the Indians (not because of racism, but because the word Indian Warrior Brave is offensive, cause it implys the diverse marginalized communities are not also brave. I tell you it is such a rich time in our history. Thank you modern Historians for telling us the real truth of our past.
