How is it that a guy who's only won a playoff game on 4 of his 18 seasons as a head coach is considered a hall of fame coach? And you can't say he didn't have a qb. He had a hof qb for about 14 years. So, give me tomlins hall of fame resume. And I don't want the .500 thing. Cause that argument is old now.
Frank is right about the (almost certain?) potential conflict of interest regarding Tom Brady – but if what Fitz said is right and there's only two real choices for the next Raiders head coach…then that potential COI is immediately a mirage, because any other team's assistant that could be interviewing for that job will just be wasting their time. Unless it's going to be neither Vrable nor Carroll? In which case yeah, then it does have to be someone else. But if it is going to be either/or, then – there's still a weird dynamic of another team's part-owner calling games involving other teams' assistants who are interviewing for HC positions when his own part-owned team is also interviewing as well, it's just…maybe somewhat less direct if none of those assistants are going to have any chance at landing with the Raiders from the outset? IDK.
Oh and – 45:12 : I think the term for this would be "worked shoot"? Getting a little more inside with that, but – yeah.
I can see the point you've made here about Chicago's abysmal management in the years since lovie smith left but, been Johnson's offense in Chicago even with Allen likely leaving, what are you thinking about? Coaches never get to walk into a younger, more talented roster than theirs. I'm pretty sure they will get Flores or Johnson. With Johnson they won't even need a defensive coordinator (lol)
