Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy on Thursday said a grand jury has handed down indictments against five former Memphis police officers for the killing of Tyre Nichols, a 29-year-old Black man, who died in hospital days after a violent traffic stop on Jan. 7.
Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Desmond Mills, Jr., Emmitt Martin III and Justin Smith, all of whom are Black, each face charges of second-degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, official misconduct and official oppression.
Mulroy said that police video of the traffic stop, in which Nichols’ family says the 29-year-old was savagely beaten for three minutes, would be released to the public on Friday.

This is just senseless and very disturbing..I could only watch 1 minute of the video and could take no more..tyre was running for his life..he knew he was in danger…I'm not one for protesting but in this case I can absolutely see protests ( peacefully). He was murdered..and he showed no signs of aggression..I would have run to if I felt my life was in danger. It's like they hire just anybody these days..smh

They beat that man because of personal reasons, for the brotherhood… There's a lady on another news channel, who stated in the comment section that Tyre was sleeping with a cop's wife!… It was also stated that, he complained to the department about officers harassing him!

If you are not a criminal, you are three times more likely to die, being struck by lightning than you are to die at the hands of an American police officer. Police officers are not the problem. The problem is the cancerous culture in this country that has no respect for law enforcement, authority, the rule of law or our country.

The dead suspect is BLACK. All of the police officers involved are BLACK. The Chief of Police is also BLACK. And yet the black community is crying that this is ALLEGEDLY "anti-black racism". These BLACKS always cry racism. These BLACKS commit a lot of violent crimes and then always cry racism if the police try to enforce the law. What are the police supposed to just let them go if the perpetrators are BLACK?
