I grew up there, in good ole BCS.
I was a railfan for years and have teken pictures of countless railroads and locations throughout the USA. You can absolutely continue to walk on the right away, your trying to capture the audio for the discussion as any reasonable person recording would want to capture.
But when you continue to allow them to make contact and keep the conversations going there is good and bad, you loose some of the actual footage of the original story.
They often do that when they are trying to distract a person from hearing the conversations and catching any bad or unlawful behavior.
