It is very possible to keep a father from his child/children, now does that mean every case is like that, ofcos not. But its very naive to think that a mther doesn't have more rights than a father, legally speaking especially in the 90s. Extremely naive, she could move, or go to the police and claim he is stalking her or that he's abusive to her and her child. Just dismissing it as something that cannot happen is nonsensical.
Always a great reaction Shawn! The song "Like Him" actually hits pretty hard for kids raised in single parent homes. Prior to this album, Tyler's music was fueled by his "angered and misguided" hate + curiosity for his absentee father. A lot of mothers chase away potentially good fathers, in anticipation of protecting the child, and men live with the heartache and despair of having a child in the world, without being there to protect them. Instead of dwelling on the heartache, men have the ability to kill those feeling and move on, but like a magnet, the child will (in most cases) find their way back to dad, because we all want to know who we are. As children, we do not understand. As adults (if we're lucky), we grow into understanding our absentee parent, and our mothers have to come to terms with their decisions. It's pretty deep.
In response to like him, you get set up in a system where she has all the right and you can’t do anything legally. Most men get stressed and hit with all other sorts of emotions and over react and get the cops called on them. It’s not an easy fix at all.
The album doesn’t have any bad songs but maybe our musical tastes are different cause the songs that you are highlighting are the songs I like the least. I like em all but high lighting Keep Falling and rah tah tah is crazy to me, those are no where near the stand outs on this album to me
Honestly I get your sticky take but I don’t think he was using them for click bait because if you didn’t look anything up the features were hidden also he said there were no features
I don’t agree with Shawn saying that it’s not possible to keep a father out of your child’s life if he rly wants to be there. She could’ve done what so many black mothers have done and hide the fact that they they’re having a child in spite of something the father might have did. Happens all the time
Judge Judy is about to Tyler not judging that girl for all that freaky shit and her confessing in a letter that she had a terminal illness. Basically saying she was freaky because she was trying to experience what she could before her time gave up
The sorry not sorry video hit different after realizing that he introduced St. Chroma then, and killing old versions of himself. So many dimensions to his art/self ❤
