  1. I was originally gonna cut the intro due to copyright but it turned out I got dinged for copyright in a bunch of other places as well so I said fuck it i'll leave it in

  2. Sora Moto sending pink haired Bakura to the shadow realm is an AMAZING thumbnail 😂 and against my better judgement this has inspired me to give this game another try. Looking forward to more KH content ❤

  3. im watching this and hope that ray learns eventually that the prime cards are super sick and op, it sucks he got that misinformation.
Premium cards make the cards way cheaper and are reloadable, essentially you want as many premium cards as possible

  4. So I first played this back when it came out for gba. I was in high school. For whatever reason I only finished Sora's story though. Then I tried it again when this version came out and I just couldn't get in to it. Then this year I 100% it and got all the achievements haha but you're right once you get the hang of the combat and what decks to make, it's not that bad. Very satisfying 100% imo tho, only slightly annoying. Getting to 99 with both characters was most tedious. Would love to see you finish it

  5. I played this game when I was really young, like I wanna say 8 or 9, and it was my first ever Kingdom Hearts game. I hated it. I got a bit further in than you did, I got to the Marluxia boss fight, and I got so infuriated at some point, I just gave up. At that age, I never just gave up in a game, I always beat my games. Not this one.

  6. Man, this is some nostalgia. I LOVED this game. As I recall, the use for premium cards is that you just make your low-number cards into premiums, then use them as Sleight starters. If you use them to start a sleight, it doesn't matter that they don't come back. The upside to premium cards is that they cost fewer Card points to add to your deck, so you can absolutely stack your deck with low-value sleight starters.

  7. Ray mentioning he didn’t like prey, he didn’t like it the first time he tried it….. lol, I’ll be honest he might like the og prey though, cause it’s less of a messy story gameplay thing like the new prey is. Og prey is really dark and cool!

( so like just by watching, slights are not that good as they eat a card, but if you make the first card a primed card then you’ll use a cheaper one use card that could be more powerful enhancing the slight. Also Ray should really be using hero’s in combos more so he can guarantee they don’t break unless a 0 is used. Combos just use more cards but don’t destroy card while adding higher number value to the used cards by combining them. He does use combos but then never with the yellow sword at the end for the better dmg. )

HONESTLY really cool deck builder inside an awkward camera dodge and combat system. There’s so much going on and the story isn’t that good ( the video cutscenes are interesting but the gameplay with story in it is bad. ) I see why they never made another one of these games.

  8. Hope you keep playing and we get part 2 ❤ game gets lots of hate but only 8% of ppl have really given it a shot, I had the chanse to play the GBA version and the re:chain, both are solid but GBA is the best my bad opinion

  9. My buddy and I never played Kingdom Hearts as kids, so the other year we decided to play through this exact xbox pack. He played KH1, and then myself the next game, and the pattern repeated. Did I beat chain of memories? Yes. Do I despise card games and their mechanics? Also yes. Finishing this game was an amazing accomplishment that I hope to never again repeat. Playing this all the way through was like serving some kind of penance. I've achieved success, but at what cost.

  10. Chain of Memories (GBA) was the first KH game I owned, just not the first one played.

Personally, the card system is something I wish we saw in more games, I loved it. However, it didn't translate very well to PS2 in my opinion. Still, I don't think it's a bad game.

  11. SO, I'm the same age as Ray. I played one, COMPLETELY skipped CoM, Played two and was lost for maybe 20 minutes in KH2. Waited a decade and then finally played the Re:CoM and I was blown away with how easy the game actually is in when you cheese certain aspects of it. Watching my favorite streamer play it and enjoy it was def vindicating as we approach it finally being released on STEAM.

  12. This was originally the first KH game I played. So I got a double whammy of not understanding how to play and not having a clue what was going on. (I did get past floor 1 though lol). I wasn't until I was an adult and had played a bunch of the other games that I went back and beat this. (I still need to beat Riku's story and platinum it, but I at least beat it once and conquered a childhood demon.) Now watching it I kind of want to play it again.

  13. Admittedly, Cloud is really hard to use at first, but if you can stack up three high level Clouds for Omnislash, it's basically free damage… at least until the boss drops a zero.

  14. just thought id point out that this game having rare achievements doesnt indicate a lack of people playing it, theres a lot rare achievements. a side effect of putting it on gamepass

  15. Hey Ray, enjoyed watching this one. Watched it in parts, slowly. But i got there. Would be fantastic if you were to continue playing.

I found the 2nd half of the game to be easier. Not needing to construct a deck and just use what you are given isn't bad at all.
