Marvel Comics X-Men line is in utter shambles. Jordan White and his cabal of talentless writers and editors are ruining the characters on a weekly basis. It’s embarrassing being an X-Men fan these days, the latest example being X-Men Annual 2022. Wes and Dok review X-Men Annual and explain why the comic goes against everything the X-Men have stood for for 80 years. Turns out Marvel COmics X-Men can get more embarrassing.

Why does Synch have Rouge's powers?
As a Canadian I'd like to say I'm pretty sure Foxe is American. Either way, his sense of humor isn't Canadian, it's woke… ian. But then again, I grew up with British humor.
Well none of these writers understand subtle either. They believe to sell a message you bludgeon your reader with a message. Showcased by the terrible dialogue I am hearing. The Krakoa/ Mars storyline needs to go or be undone like Peter and Mary Jane. There was some potential but maybe it's gone too far in the wrong direction
It's sad that a generation of readers are going to think that this era of X-men comics is just as good as the great stories of the 80s and 90s.

When you said Synch can copy Spider-Man Powers’ I thought that is ridiculous because Not even Hope Summers, the Mutant Messiah cannot copy non mutant superpowers. So I went to Marvel Wiki for research. Apparently in Amazing Spider Man issue 437 Synch did copied Peter Parker’s powers when both were exposed a mutagentic pollen by Plantman.
And I don’t understand why Steve Foxe hate to word beating cancers. Heck at being He made Firestar said The Hellions said Avengers like a Slur.
And how insulting way of Steve Foxe to portray Firestar. She a cancer survivor and he wrote thinking she Privileged is Effin disgusting. Steve Foxe you want to say Real Cancer survivors are Privileged in real life cause you get cancel for sure, sir.
And amazing Kamala Khan, Carol Danvers and Nadia Pym have friends to help them to shown as the best thing but Firestar have friends who help her get through her Cancer she’s privileged and seen in a negative light. I agreed about Firestar being a undercover for Avengers would be a great Storyline but Marvel but they threw away because it might offensive just like DC throw away Jon Kent becoming a Tyrant because Queer character aren’t allow to be villains even though they are villain are LGBT.
You know I remembered a deleted tweet from Fabian Nicieza. He said even Vance a mutant he doesn’t want Vance Astrovik to join to x men ever. As in Now with Krakoa Era and what they done to Firestar it for the Best, It bad enough What Eve Ewing and Marvel editors had done to Vance in the Outlawed event.
The part Doc really got to me was the Borg. At least the Borg were slaves. I'm thinking the Manson family, Heavens Gate, and the Jim Jones temple. Apparently those people in Guyana? Were drinking the poison cyanide, noticed the other members were dropping dead, and finished their drinks anyway. That's not positive to do whatever everyone else does. With the Heavens Gate thing, the Apple white guy was basically a gay man who felt that was wrong. So he had himself castrated so he wouldn't be attracted to men any more .I think, I don't know, but I would guess he liked very young men. If you know what I mean.
So depicting Bobby as basically a child like man baby, who follows a bald guy, has a bunch of brainwashed followers… It's a lot too much on the nose. And Firestar is now basically an Acolyte? She always had a very strong relationship with her father, who is a human. Basically reprogramming kids, driving wedges between them and their family… I think there is a word for that. Besides sick or unhealthy.

I really just found this book dull and ok. And compared to the number of actively awful and offensive x books I thought that was … fine (sigh).
Never forget, at one point X-Men were Marvel's top book for a long time. Not Spider-Man, not Hulk and most certainly never the Avengers. X-Men were the first big box office superhero hit when the movie was released. They dominated comic sales charts for an ungodly amount of time. Now this is what we have. Stop giving money to companies that hate you.

Thought it was okay just kind of bland and forgettable. Didn't care for Forge's joke about Firestar hanging out with Iceman and Spider-Man (Peter Parker). They have very few actual team ups in 616. Is Forge watching the 80s cartoon from an alternate universe or something lol!

If I were an editor at Marvel or DC. I would create an event where I would kill all the characters and then do a reboot. He would then slowly age the characters and create new characters. As does the Manga. Usually manga have a beginning, a beginning and an end. except for the really successful ones that continue for many years. But the characters must continue to evolve. In Marvel and DC the characters are stagnant and no longer have stories to tell.

Wes – did you read Action Comics 1050? Hope you review it. Such a terrible issue. They force Tom Taylor onto us readers who wanted to skip his Jon Kent series, and then also mix the 3 writers into 1 story (instead of 3 separate ones), so we cant even skip Taylor's story or his new crap characters. Plus, the terrible cartoony art made it feel like I wasn't reading current Action comics at all. Such a fail.
As New Year approaches, I wonder if Wes is doing a "worst of the year".

I have a good friend in Pittsburgh who beat cancer. Perhaps Dok would like to meet him one day, as he works in a local comic book store. He didn't just beat it – he throttled the living fuck out of it. He put out six CD compilation boxsets which raised over $100K for cancer causes. He starred as a character in a comic book who is part of a superhero team which miniaturizes inside cancer patients and literally "beats" the cancer villains to death. Then he recently got his chance for his band to open for one of his all-time musical heroes. Yes, indeed, "beat" is an excellent word to describe what should be done to cancer!
Imagine genuinely buying Marvel or DC comics in 2022 and trying to enjoy them.

Enough people already know about almost all the writers at Marvel & DC being awful. That's a big reason why their sales are tanking.
How long can the best thing marvel have just limp along like ths?
I've gotten to the point, this entire xmen story line is crap. There is a way out of this. What if it turned out that Krakow. Was not a mutant, but an alien spore, just waiting for the right time? Krakow is a spore, spreading itself throughout the galaxy. Using Xavier and the other mutants, has psychically using them to manipulate reality. Remember, in GSX-Men1, Krakow was removed from the planet. As what is currently going on, the mutants are pawns. What has broken is a reality blink, where the pieces, a sense of something isn't right from psychic to physical and more, of perception was wrong. The summer event is the Xmen Revelation. Revelation by mutants and humans, as to what is going on and what some are forced to deal with. A type of mutant civil war. Do the mutants support Krakow or organize to send it into space, as was originally done? What of the humans and their governments and the benefits, if there ever were any from Krakow? And then there is Orchid and there taking advantage of this opportunity to attack.
The fallout? Are mutants trusted or.allowed to live and let live? Will the government's take samples of Krakoa to grow there own? Will the full extent of what Krakoa has done be realized? When we first saw Krakoa, it was feeding off mutants. Are the mutants,walking around real or plant constructs from Krakoa? Humans begin to look down on mutants. An infection develops from all of the serums sent to humans from Krakoa. What will happen next?
As to the story line of the annual, it had some bare humorous moments. The overall opinion is crap on the story and crap on characters.
I just simply cannot relate to comics anymore unless a dude has his rod buried deep in his boy toy’s fudge tunnel, life is just so unfair!!🤣😜
I want to get some X-Men trades or Omnis, but it don’t know where to go with the stories before it starts getting off the rails. My memories of Bobby Drake are from X-Factor when he was dating either Allison Blair or Lila Chaney. Probably Whilce Portacio was around the time I quit reading.
