Tupac Shakur murder: Las Vegas police arrest suspect in rapper's shooting death | LiveNOW from FOX

Las Vegas police have arrested a man in the deadly 1996 drive-by shooting of Tupac Shakur, a long-awaited break in a case that has frustrated investigators and fascinated the public ever since the hip-hop icon was gunned down on the Las Vegas Strip 27 years ago.

Duane “Keffe D” Davis was arrested early Friday morning, although the exact charge or charges were not immediately clear, according to two officials with first-hand knowledge of the arrest. They were not authorized to speak publicly ahead of an expected indictment later Friday.

Davis has long been known to investigators and has himself admitted in interviews and in his 2019 tell-all memoir, “Compton Street Legend,” that he was in the Cadillac where the gunfire erupted during the September 1996 drive-by shooting. Shakur was 25 when he was gunned down.

The arrest comes two months after Las Vegas police raided his wife’s home July 17 in neighboring Henderson. Documents said police were looking for items “concerning the murder of Tupac Shakur.”

  2. Apart of me is happy to hear this considering I grew up in the 90’s on his music but the other part of me is saddened that the “Tupac is still alive” conspiracy isn’t true I was really hoping it was 😢

  3. What the La. Police did was say "Let it go. They'll keep killing each other. Makes our job easy". Problem is the sons from broken homes fell right into their trap. Boys with no moral training will kill, deal, keep the process going. Somewhere along the way we've stop listing to our elders. Now they are killing and robbing them. The only way back is through God. Build our churches back up and protect Protect our elders. Burn the rapp manual to kill!!!!

  4. I was 13 when Tupac was killed. Now, I'm a white boy from the backwoods of western Washington, but my dad was a radio broadcast engineer for 25 years. Unfortunately, he avoided working on rap music stations like the plague, not because of racism, he just didn't understand the music. Fortunately, there was this TV station called MTV, and they picked up where he left off. It's sad knowing that the Oklahoma City bombing, and the deaths of both Tupac and Biggie smalls all happened within the span of two years. I just hope that one of Tupac's suspected killers finally atones for his evil deed.
