Remote, icy and mostly pristine, Greenland plays an outsized role in the daily weather experienced by billions of people and in the climate changes taking shape all over the planet. Since his first term in office, President-elect Donald Trump has expressed interest in acquiring Greenland, which is a semiautonomous territory of Denmark, a longtime U.S. ally and a founding member of NATO. 1. Your reporter is not credible. Not once did he mention military and defense strategic importance. He slipped up when he attempted to say greenlands ice decreases β€œevery” year. He caught himself because he knows very well that’s not true.

  2. After watching this video and considering the history of the US, he's going to pressure them into leasing territory. If Trump makes it about China and US business interest, he might get away with it.

  3. Yeah all that "potential" oil, gas, minerals are buried under tons of snow and difficult to extract….even though the snow is melting, it'll still take years, if not decades to first explore and then extract those resources profitably….there are easier alternatives elsewhere honestly, and the world is moving away from oil as it is….the gas and minerals may be useful in the future perhaps, before space mining becomes viable bringing limitless resources..

  4. Trump knows he can not lower grocery prices. Nor help Americans get better jobs… So, what does he do? .. threatens other countries … It's as if Trump thinks he can detour Americans with this nonsense. As if this will take people's minds off of the price of groceries.

  5. When Trump trots out some outrageous ideas like annexing Greenland or Canada or renaming the Gulf of Mexico, the real question is what is he trying to divert our attention from. In this case, it is the sentencing for his hush money convictions in New York.

  6. Did you say it has more than 2500 trillion tons of ice and it’s only losing 200-300 tons of ice a year? If those numbers are correct that proportion of ice to melt seems like there is no real concern of the ice melting.

  7. Trump want America to steal resources from Greenland instead PAY those resources, want to invade Panama instead PAY like all other countries do … only solution is BRICS replace petrodollar with other currencies. USA will assure for Greenland the same independence as American Apache or Sioux people have in America
